What a game in San Francisco today. Couldn't believe Romo played through a broken rib. Honestly, when they said he broke it and Kitna came in, I thought the Niners were going to beat us for sure. Great game, can't believe we came back down 24-14 in the fourth to win it. Miles Austin was ridiculous today, the touchdown he had to make it 21-24 was outstanding. Overall, great game. We didn't play great by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a great game.

Huge comeback win, to be honest I thought Kitna coming in and getting them a TD was huge. Romo really redeemed himself and this may just be a season changing win. Despite the injury that could not have played out better for Romo. A perfect way to get the Jets game out of his mind. For once I am looking forward to next weeks game out of excitement and not anger.

I was looking foward to having the media to torture the

Cowboys had they lost to the Niners of all teams.

Admittedly, even though I am a Niners fan, I haven't really hated the Boys that much. Still though, I know the history

between the 2 teams, and why did we have to lose it like

that to them? > :(

Edit: Man, what a double digit point swing that just occurred in the Eagles-Falcons.

I don't even know what to say about this Chargers team anymore. It feels like all I do is repeat myself over and over about stupid mistakes and lack of preparation. I'm starting to wonder why I care so much when the team, coaching staff, and front office don't seem to care at all.

Believe me, I know the feeling. B)

At least the Browns just lose, no fuss, no muss. The fact that the Chargers win just enough to get my hopes up every year before disappointing yet again makes it even worse.

Today is a pretty good example of why I've never had all that much interest in either of the Bay Area teams, despite living in Northern California my whole life. Both teams are just so hard to support.

you can't support a team that doesnt win every week?

If you need a team to win in order to support them, then you're not really supporting them at all. You're following them.

I say this from the incredibly privileged position of supporting two teams that are very good and outstanding, respectively. But in order to get there, I've had to live with some very lousy teams. I was every bit as big a Packer fan in the 1970s and 80s as I am today, and every Brewer fan over 5 years old remembers the dark days.

It's living through those bad seasons that make you a real fan.

Trust me, my team doesn't need to win all the time in order for me to give my support, I'm a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. I have been pretty much as long as I can remember, so I know a little about bad seasons. I've always found the bay area teams hard to support for many reasons, but the biggest reasons are that in my lifetime they've both been so terribly mismanaged in all aspects from on the field play, to coaching, to ownership that they've been just a disaster to watch. I worked at a radio station back in high school that broadcast every Raiders and Niners game, and they're the local teams where I live so I've sat through some straight up miserable football watching them both. I've NEVER been seriously interested in the Niners or Raiders beyond a passing glance. You're right though Gothamite, support was a badly chosen word. I do follow them though, strictly due to where I live and lack of other options on cable. I have no ill will towards them, and have hopes that they can both be entertaining to watch. But in my lifetime they've been so freaking boring to watch. It's the same crap all the time with the both of them. It's just miserable to sit through sometimes.

What...A...Game! Take ur smelly asses back to the :censored:ty side of PA

Really? Come on man.

Wow, Matty Ice looked really good. I admire his whole "I want to be tough like the rest of our team" but you can't let Ryan get hit like that all the time and expect him to not get hurt. Smith & Co. gotta figure something out.

Sam Baker was awful. He got eviscerated on damn near every play. I was hoping that he just had a bad day in Chicago last week, but this looks like it's gonna be a problem. Yeah, they've really gotta fix that, or Ryan's gonna get hurt.

That being said: #1 - Holy crap, the Falcons needed this win and they got it. Great win for the team. #2 - I am SO glad this game is over with and in the past.

I don't know if there's ever been a team in NFL history that has done less with more then the San Diego Chargers over the past 8 years. 77-37 going back to 2004 in the regular season, and 3-5 in the playoffs. Their playoff wins don't even account for 5% of their total wins. I can't think of any team in NFL history with a record that good over the same time period where the same thing could be said about them besides the Chargers.

Oh they used to do that bit too. That was the mid 80's Browns. If only I'd stuck with my first favorite NFL team. When I was maybe 5 or 6, we'd go to my grandparent's house every Sunday. It seemed like my grandpa was watching the Packers on TV every time we went over there. I thought those yellow helmets with the G on them and those green jerseys were about the coolest thing I'd ever seen. (Color TV was relatively new back then) Anyway, I thought the Green Bay Packers were the :censored:. Yup, I could have been a Packers fan but no, I gotta get all caught up in the 1969 NFL Championship game and root for the Browns. Of course they lost (27-7 to the Vikings) but I ended up sticking with them. To this day, I have no idea why I switched teams. I wish 50 year old me could go back and tell 8 year old me to stick with the Packers. B)

That there is the value of not being a glory hunter- deferred gratification, and learning it's value! Somehow the victory is all the sweeter if it is earned, in this case through years of frustration and pain, than if it just falls on your lap.

Also just imagine being a Niners fan who got into them in the early 90s, because they always win, and now they can hardly win a game!! That fate awaits even the most die hard Patriots fan eventually!!!

Compare to Josh Freeman, he is a good clutch QB that can lead a team back, Cutler can not. That is why the Bears need to play in front.

Josh Freeman also has something above a Mountain West-caliber offensively line and has receivers who can run routes AND catch, not one possesion receiver and three fifth receivers. CS85's pants pissing is hilarious in this thread. I think the Bears might not win another game... this decade!

As an Oregon homer, it is my duty to anounce that Blount and Stewert did great :P

Oh, and what was that about Cam Newton failing in the NFL?

He hasn't won a game yet... for now... he's a failure...

Moreso, he threw three picks.
