On the bright side, Andy Dalton's haircut really is something. :D

Seriously, though, I think that the Bengals really had their hands tied coming into this one. Without two receivers in Green and Gresham who accounted for 42% of Cincinnati's air game (IIRC), the Bengals were essentially doomed from the start. Had they had everyone healthy, I think that this game would be a nailbiter (if not Cincinnati in the driver's seat) instead of a sure Colts win, given Indy's lack of a run game and the Bengals' superb defense.

Unfortunately, Bengals fans will simply have to wait another year. Curses are meant to be broken, and I believe that all the pieces will fall into place one season or another for the Bengals (and for the Reds & Blue Jackets). No need to give up hope if you're a Cincinnati sports fan, or if you belong to any struggling fan base, for that matter. There will always be better days.

I'd say that Dalton sure doesn't help the Bengals much, but this time around its kinda hard for me to put this one squarely on him. Losing AJ Green hurt their offense tremendously, to the point where they really didn't have that big threat once they fell behind. Also, losing Vontaze Burfict on their defense was a bigger blow than I think most people realized.

I feel bad for McCarthy and the other Bengal fans for suffering their team's playoff futility, but in the end, the better team won (The Colts). Now bring on Vader (Tom Brady), the Emperor (Belichick), and the Patriots Empire. :bonk:

Great game by the Colts. They were able to run the ball (what a concept! Thanks Boom.), the defense stepped up in the second half, and Luck was exceptional. I would've liked less field goals and finished more drives, but it did the job.

And I'm sorry McCarthy and Bengals fans, but there wasn't too much you guys could do. Key injuries on both sides of the ball, and Andy Dalton isn't a "take the game by the reins" type QB. Your streak will break someday, but it wasn't in the cards for today.

We're playing Peyton and the Broncos.... I know it's not your beloved Loovull, but pay attention.

Sigh, I hate this. Especially in the playoffs. I want the Colts to win. I want Peyton to win. Either way, one will be eliminated next Sunday night. I don't expect the Colts to win, so I'm already setting myself up for that, but if they can play like they did today, they'll set themselves up to compete at least.

May the best man/team win, and best of luck after that.

I feel like this was probably the best possible outcome for the second round in the AFC. This Manning vs Luck matchup is probably the most competitive looking one yet, and it's pretty hard to beat a Ravens Pats playoff game. No matter their record, the Ravens always seem to match up really well against the Pats, and they absolutely HATE New England so it should be a good game.

Yeah, the AFC broke well for rivalries, but you really only get those when you get the same teams playing each other a lot. It'd be nice to see Pats/Jags, Broncos/Browns, or, dare I say, Bills/anybody.

Looking back on it the Bengals and Steelers eliminated each other from the playoffs in week 17. Bengals took out Leveon Bell. Steelers took out AJ Green. Both performances would've been much different if either guy had played. I don't think the Bengals would've won because their pass rush couldn't touch Andrew Luck, but it would've been closer.

I'm looking forward to next season when the Bengals (hopefully) have the healthy versions of AJ Green, Marvin Jones, Tyler Eifert, Andre Smith, and Vontaze Burfict. Their schedule looks doable. Wouldn't surprise me if we're back here in a year talking about all of this again.

Just as I was about to quote Coach Green, the Cowboys finally scored. C'mon fellas don't be last years team today.

That TD was huge. It gives Dallas a little momentum when they spent all the first half before that grasping at straws.

That 99-yard drive was an absolute moral killer.
