If you're going to do something garish like this, use it to promote academic aspects of the school, be it famous alumni, programs the school has, or what not. I never knew nor had any kind of inkling. (This may at least in part explain to me now how Captain Janeway of Voyager was written to be from Bloomington, Indiana, though--although knowing all this, they should have written her as being from West Lafayette. (Neil Armstrong and Gene Cernan) On top of all of the astronauts, Purdue also has some ties to some well known pilots. Capt. Sully attended Purdue and Amelia Earhart was a Career Counselor at Purdue. The plane she used on her final flight was also funded by the Purdue Research Foundation. Armstrong and Earhart are Purdue legends and both have been immortalized on the Purdue campus with statues! For some reason when I first saw the video, I thought the uniform numbers had the same moon effect that the P on the helmet does. Anyone have a good shot of that patch? upperV03 Posted October 10, 2019 Share Posted October 10, 2019 Wazzu going white/white/anthracite at ASU: The anthracite pants look so out of place with this combo since the jerseys and helmets are both just white with crimson accents. Definitely not one of their better combos. Utah going red/white/red at Oregon State: It’s the Beavers’ Homecoming week, and they’re asking fans to wear retro gear to the game this weekend, and also using the retro Benny logo and other retro-inspired graphics on social media. With that in mind, I think the Beavs will be wearing the gorgeous retro Benny fauxbacks that they wore last season: Colorado going with the traditional gold/white/black at Oregon: The Ducks should be revealing their combo tomorrow.
