Have a white outline wide enough to cover the top and bottom of the letters to match the space

Outlining the letters would then break up illusion of the brown and orange as the white would be cutting through it. If anything just insert a thick white stripe under Cleveland to fill that void and make it work on any background.

Color Rush as a program was officially ended in 2018.

Not exactly true. The NFL no longer mandates that teams have a color rush, and thus no longer mandate when they must be worn. However it is still an option that any team can create a color rush in addition to an alternate and throwback.

Basically the NFL obviously requires teams to have a standard home and away but all teams have the option of having an alternate, a throwback and a color rush.

Teams can officially have 5 jerseys. Before last season teams could have a throwback or an alternate in addition to their home, away and color rush but now teams have the option of having all 5 if they so choose.

Damn, I didn't know they could do all of them now, throwback or an alternate but now both😲. So do teams still have 3 games to wear the 3 additional options?

Not sure if this has been talked about yet, but how out of the loop can someone so high up in the organization be?

At least it sounds like we may get some orange pants soon. Not sure how you could have 5 teams that utilize orange (CLE, CIN, DEN, CHI, MIA) and not have a single one include orange pants. No, Denver's Color Rush doesn't count.

Look at the Bears... they have the Orange alt jerseys and the throwback. The Dolphins actually have 2 throwback the white and the aqua.

As this is pretty new most teams aren't taking full advantage of this yet. I am pretty sure the rule is Alts/throwbacks 2 times and color rush once.

So if a team has both a throwback and an alt you can see each once or one of the 2 twice in a season.

"New uniforms"....in the Brown's case, more like re-introducing the Edsel and calling it "new".  The Brown's Journey in Excrement makes a strong argument to allow teams who roll out horrible new unis to be able to back up to what they replaced the next year, then start a 4-year clock if they want to try again.

It HAS NEVER worked.. most of the times, it's been accompanied by horrible design choices elsewhere in the uniform, so everything gets scrapped EXCEPT FOR WHEN THEY TRIED WITH THEIR TRADITIONAL UNIFORMS AND DECIDED TO GO BACK TO THE OBO STRIPES BECAUSE that one element was bad.. the OBO striping looks GOOD.. no two ways about it.. BOB is unquestionably inferior.. you won't change my mind on this

They reverted back to the OBO in '06 for their 60th anniversary.. they also went back to grey facemasks that season as well.. it wasn't because either element was bad.. it was because they wanted to celebrate an anniversary with their classic look... They've never actually left that look exclusively to leave that look.. it was to ditch flashier overall uniforms and/or commemorate an anniversary with a throwback look..

(Also worth noting, they didn't really try the true OBO striping - at least not with their brown jerseys.. they used B/W/O/W/B stripes)

So even though they keep going away from the BOB stripes, they ALSO keep going back to It.. In the last set, it was never part of anyone's complaints.. all the other gimmicky trash was the problem.. Chest stripes, pants wordmark, giant CLEVELAND on the chest, rise-shadow, carbon fiber stripes, contrast stitching, etc..

He's not out of the loop on this one. Just listen to the actual interview and it's pretty clear that he is being sarcastic with the whole "oh really? People wanted those? I guess we missed on that" bit.

Cálmate, the orange pants are ready to roll.

So they went back because it looks better...

Oh wow, you weren't kidding. Maybe the articles should emphasize that rather than just quoting it without context, as though he was serious.

Browns Owner Says Team Will “Find a Way” to Add Orange Pants

April 17, 2020 - 18:26 PM

The Cleveland Browns “new” look, unveiled this past Wednesday was met with nearly universal praise from around the uniform world. You might note there that I said “nearly universal praise”, there was one aspect missing that fans made quite clear […]

Not true. They tried BWOWB stripes with the brown jersey, but in that same time period they also tested BOB stripes a few times.

When they went back to the Jim Brown stripes on the jerseys they went back to the OBO stripes because that's the classic Browns look and in everyone's opinion, the thousands of people I've surveyed, and especially my heavily weighted one, we all think OBO looks better. It wouldn't make sense to go BOB with the new unfiroms because it A. looks worse and B. isn't the Browns.

Haslem was planning on changing the Columbus Crew name and colors earlier this year, so not surprised to see him overlook something like orange pants.
