2023 NFL Regular Season Through Super Bowl LVIII

Recommended Posts

Well, if I wasn’t already excited for the season before (Don’t worry, I was) I sure am now.

Nice work, Little Lion Men.

Man what a win, watching them go from clowns to a team that can bite kneecaps. I'm excited to see where this team goes this year. This has been my team, and I watched this franchise go winless to this. Let's go Lions I am ready for that Kool aid

Great news for Lions fans!

And for everyone in the AFC! KC laying an egg at home is good for business. The only other better outcome is if they had had a conference loss.

Hell yeah man, enjoy it. My Bucs three year fever dream is over so it’s back to being embarrassing again. I already miss it.

NFL is already one of the most fun things ever, but it’s just on a different level when your idiot football team is finally worth watching. I imagine it’s how mouth breathers must’ve felt from 2017-2021. NGL, it’s quite the high.

SPOILER: The Chiefs will be playing in February. The Lions will not.

Not with that defense.

Chiefs defense was fine... they only gave up 14.

Good win for Detroit, though. I'd like to see the Lions play Gibbs more. He's electric and Montgomery is terribly inefficient.

You’re likely right. But my overall point was that finally getting to see a trash team you’ve been a fan of for a long time be competitive is a real unique good feeling. A couple fanbases may get that this season. That’s rad.

Just curious... do you know what that gif is from?

I see that the Refs are already in Midseason form by missing false start penalties from Chiefs OT Jaawan Taylor.

I'm waiting for the NFL to just say - yeah, we don't care about that anymore because it protects the QB :censored:

It's where I sit.

I feel even stronger now that they should do the schedule so it's something close to this:

First 3 games: interconference

next 3 games: intraconference

next 3 games: division round 1

next 2 games: interconference

next 3 games: intraconference

final 3 games: division round 2

I know with bye weeks and London it's very difficult to actually do that, but it lets teams work out the kinks in less-meaningful interconference games, before playing more meaningful intracconference match ups, and then super meaningful divisional games.

100% agree. I hate opening with the Browns and Ravens when recent history, especially against the Browns, says they've been a bad matchup for the Bengals and the matchup math gets worse if the Bengals shoot themselves in the foot and get down early, which is what happened on Halloween last year and in 2021. I've been worried all offseason about a slow start because of Burrow's calf and the first team offense hasn't played together in 7 months. It's why I took the Browns in the CCSLC pickem league. They blew the game week 1 against Pittsburgh last year and it ultimately wasn't that impactful, but they spent the first half of the season chasing that loss.  Ideally you'd get to figure out your timing against, like, the Cardinals where laying a big ass week 1 egg isn't as detrimental if you trip over your own butts.

Kelce cannot come back soon enough.

Seeing Chris Jones flanked by discount Sopranos was pretty funny, though and the defense actually doing alright weakened his position a bit. Still, I thought it would be close and that there would be a shot Detroit would win. They're going to be a hell of a team. Wouldn't be shocked if they made it to the NFC Championship Game or even beyond.
