As the jersey rumples out at the bottom in that shot, the numbers catch more of the lights from above, and since the blue fabric is shiny, it brightens up. coco1997 Posted May 12 Share Posted May 12 First impressions: - It's great to see racing stripes again, especially after I half expected the Tigers to use them for their design and they wound up going a different route. - The big "CLE" on the front allows those Art Deco details to really stand out. - I'm a sucker for a good white front paneled cap, and considering it's in standard team colors, I wouldn't mind seeing it join Cleveland's regular cap rotation. - Strangely, the design doesn't seem to "connect" to those socks that leaked a few weeks ago. I see no royal blue, no "Swinging Guardian" logo, and the front of the jersey doesn't say "The Land." All in all, it's not particularly bold or outside the box, but after the last few designs, maybe that's exactly what we needed. I would guess that they chose CLE because it's three big letters that can showcase the art deco design more clearly, compared to nine smaller letters spelling out "Cleveland." LEWJ Posted May 12 Share Posted May 12 I love them (re: Guardians) They’ve silently done a fantastic job of tying in art-deco themes and symbols without going over-the-top. At least in my opinion. I have been a big fan of the social media graphics and the like. I’m cautiously-hopeful some elements make an appearance on the primary uniforms at some point. Although, I could see them avoiding certain elements in fear of them appearing “tribal”.
