B-Rich
Not a state, but perhaps the wackiest is the old ABA San Diego Conquistadors Logo:For some reason, his helmet has a geographic MAP of San Diego on it (water is white, land is gold). You can clearly see the bay, Coronado, the Mission Bay area, etc.Why is there a map on his helmet? Why is his head a basketball? Since he is also dribbling a basketball, are we to assume he is actually dribbling someone else's head (Montezuma's perhaps?).These questions keep me awake at night.... It is what it is. powersurge
WOW! now THAT'S overkill. I can see why they might think they could get away with it in the helmet, because of the shine or gleam that would eminate from it. But the whole basketball head thing....WOW! just WOW!Thankfully, logo design has come a long way from this kind of logo.
kphealey
New Jersey Statesmen (American Professional Slo-Pitch League)If my geography doesn't fail me, isn't NJ rotated around in this logo a whole 180 degrees, so geographically north is on the bottom?Edit: For comparison

FrankCostanza
Ok, it's not a state (or even a whole province) but the Cape Breton Oilers formally of the AHL had a map of Cape Breton Island on their logo. Â
hecticbro
I never noticed this before, but the Devils' NJ looks like it's roughly in the shape of the state.
