Sodboy13 Posted October 21, 2011 Share Posted October 21, 2011 Well I don't like that number font at all (it exaggerates everything I hated about the previous black and purple LA Kings number font), but I would be down with shoulder length lightning bolts for the Lightning.That's actually the number font the Milwaukee Admirals used in the pre-Deadmiral era.I love the bolts that went down the sleeves of Tampa's Stormfront jersey, and think it would be great to see a nod back to that on an alternate. Bring back the electric numeral font, too, or at least that modified block font they used to use with the funky 4s. Lightning changing center ice to the new logo while using the old one are using the old one with the new one now. What is going on there? At the same time, however, Tampa Bay was the only team in the league with a unique scheme like that. I have always loved the idea of making blue the primary color, but this whole re-branding process has been shoddy, at best. They had their new logo at centre ice in February of last year, yet the since-replaced logo will still see ice time for about 13 games the season after.I don't get it. The mock-ups with the removed shoulder logo and gray piping were markedly better than what they're (still) wearing tonight. I think if they remove the piping and change the wordmark that it will be a solid uniform. And help distinguish them from other teams. The "D" jersey is still the alternate, and yeah they've worn it three time so far.
