The Giant Pacific Octopus
Would this count as a prototype logo? The Catch of the Day!
Gothamite
Sure as heck would. I wonder who had the bright idea to combine the vertical lines of the N and J? The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Lights Out
Didn't they end up using that as an alternate logo? POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
BBTV
That is true, but that name did not make it to the concept stage, the Rocky Mountain Black Bears (also considered), did make it to concept.I would have vastly preferred that name.I honestly can't disagree more. I think the Colorado Avalanche has grown into a very appropriate and acceptable identity. Not sure if its because of the success of the team but it makes total sense to me. To be 100% honest, I completely love the color scheme, the logo, and the name. It totally works for me.I agree. Also, Rocky Mountain Black Bears couldn't sound any more like a minor league baseball team if they spelled it "Bearzz".They play in Denver, not Utah. Lights Out
It's almost criminal how much better that Mavs concept is than what they went with. POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/

chuckymack
I disagree. I don't like a single thing about that Mavericks set (not that their current look is much better). As for the Portland set, I kinda dig the primary logo, but that's about it. Sigs are for sissies.
CDixonDesign
The only thing I like about the Mavericks set is the color palette, other than that, I believe what both teams went with are miles above what is shown above. Not to say that both those concepts are in the very early concept stage, they both hold very good merit, but need a bit of further refining. tubby34
i like that mavs logo, but the jerseys are just horriawfulI'll be honest, the logo looks like a Unicorn to me- and thus a WNBA concept for Cuban.

Bayne
All I can say is, the NHL sure avoided some horrendous identities over the years. I'm actually amazed at how most of the bad prototype names/logos seem to have been discarded for much better ones. Thank god I'm Danny fkn Heatley, I play for myself. That's what fkn all stars do. TornadoGTS
That one on the bottom right with the front logo is quite interesting, talk about logo overkill. Facebook: CustomSportsCovers Twitter: CSCovers Quote No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms.
