Marlins walk off, but don´t tell me this ripping off jerseys fad is back ? i hate that :censored: so much, shows no respect for expensive jerseys that fans pay 200-300 for

They're not ripping the fans jerseys, they're ripping their own jersey that they spend their own money (although not as much) on. They can do whatever they wish with their jersey, just as the fans can do whatever with their jersey. It's not like they're burning a country flag or anything. Why should jerseys be respected?
Pretty sure players get everything for free, but the point is that some fans spend alot of money of those aut. jerseys, i for once have alot of jerseys and take good care of them, that is why it hurts to see them destroyed for no reason, remember there are folks who make em´and sew on numbers and name carefully, some might take pride in their work....besides, the jersey and logo are representing the team, was there not a thing about Toronto in the NHL, and the outrage about jerseys being thrown on the ice, belived it upset the players to see the Leafs jerseys on the ice, destroying it is far worse imo
I found an article (business insider) which states that the team provides each player with two uniforms, but after that I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure any additional uniform comes at their cost. You're definitely correct, and I may be correct. Regardless, I feel like you are taking this way too seriously. It's an expensive shirt, sure, but thinking someone has to respect it is a bit ridiculous. Also, acting like every single jersey every stitch is hand sewn is also a bit ridiculous. This is such a first world issue to where it leaps the values of nationalism. Sure, it makes you a little mad if you see an opponent trash a jersey, but is it so offensive that it warrants your response. Poverty should sicken you, world hunger should sicken you, but not someone ripping his jersey in happiness.

Well okay, then all sports should cease... "so Alex Ovechkin, you just lost in the stanley cup finals ? oh well, it does not matter at all, there are people starving, quit crying and get in the homeless kitchen"

No, i will continue to get mad as hell when a see a stain on my $300 marlins jersey, and go ape :censored: when i see a jersey ripped to shreds, i belive it was that little jerk nick punto that started it in St. Louis. David Freese´s jersey destroyed

Who else wants to mention the profit margin on those authentic jerseys, or the working conditions encountered by the labor force that makes those jerseys?

I'm actually with Jason From Miami on this one, but not because the jerseys are expensive.

In this day and age of mercenary players, constant turnover, and free agency there is no loyalty anymore. We root for the uniform and the uniform will be around longer than a heavy majority of the players. I don't want to see it torn apart. It's almost like a flag. Maybe this dates back to playing competitive sports and being taught to never throw my jerseys on the floor, but the uniform is something that should be respected.

It might be a hockey thing because every team I ever played on there was some sort of punishment for letting your sweater hit the floor of the locker-room. Seeing it ripped off of players and destroyed does kind of bother me. I'll admit to that.

So after putting up essentially an 0-fer at Safeco, Nelson Cruz has 4 HRs in four games on the road. That's great, but I hope he rediscovers his power at home too.

So far, this season feels exactly like 2011 and 2013 for the Giants. Pitching is getting shelled on the nights when they can hit, they can't hit on the nights they pitch well, and while the defense has played decently, there's at least one guy who absolutely kills them each game with defensive lapses.

So far, Nori Aioki is tops on my yearly Giants :censored: list as he's already playing like 2011 Miguel Tejada. Peavy is just behind him. Those two signings already look even worse than they did a few months ago.

The season is still young, though.

Ahh I missed the (usually misplaced) pessimism that baseball season brings.

Bryan Price hands Jumbo Diaz a two run lead in the 8th inning for the second consecutive game and for the second consecutive game he blows it by giving a two run bomb.

Hey Bryan, you're allowed to use your best pitcher before the 9th inning. Let Jumbo take care of the bottom of the Cubs lineup in the 9th. How does that make less sense? Two losses in a row because of sticking to some outdated, arbitrary belief that your closer has to come in in the 9th inning.

But not in this case, Majestic is American and the Authentic jerseys are made in the US, and i do belive (and hope) those men and women take pride in their work....profit margin is of course off the scale, i will admit that.

It was a fun Cubs win, that's for sure.

Is Cujo a Cubs fan? Do we share the like for a team? If so I need to go take another shower.

The Rays at .500 is pretty surprising for me because I expected them to be much worse than this.

It's still early, they'll regress :P

Hey, the Rays are now over .500 for the first time in a year and the BoSox will regress later in the year. :P

Are we watching the same Aoki? Dude's been one of the most reliable guys in the lineup. Defense is another matter, though.

I'm talking defensively for Aioki. He's been decent at the plate, but in the field? Woof. He made several awful plays (both in the field and on the base paths) that have either led to runs or have totally killed rallies. Sunday in San Diego was brutal to watch. That's where the Tejada comparisons come in.

Hitting I'm never too worried about with the Giants. They're never a GREAT hitting team. They've always relied on the strength of (obviously) their pitching, but probably even more so, their defense. In the odd years after the recent titles they seem to try and plug in some odd mismatched free agent who's simply not a very good fielder and it's come back to bite them in the ass. Aioki just feels like that guy so far to me.
