I've always had a soft spot for the Yotes, so I hope it works out for them, but I feel as though no one really gives enough of a crap about them to really try to get something built. The best solution would be to move into the Suns arena, but I know the Suns aren't exactly rolling out a welcome mat.

Did the recent renovation of that arena make it suitable for hockey? They played there for their first 6 or 7 years in Phoenix and it was....suboptimal.

I mean, Tempe seems pretty keen on it; the RfP they've put out is explicitly looking for a pro sports venue, and the only team really in need of a new location in the city is the 'Yotes; the D-Backs, Suns, Cards and Rising are all pretty well-off where they all currently sit, so I doubt any of them are looking for new buildings.

 

Besides, I feel like the NHL won't want to relocate to a market that's basically the same size when they could just expand to Houston and have more large media markets then they already do. They're not always the keenest, but even the NHL isn't that dumb; they only left Atlanta when there was literally nowhere for them to play and no time to find a new building.

 

The Coyotes could always hole up at the Vet while a new building is made, like what the Isles did with Nassau during UBS' construction; it's not ideal and not up to modern NHL standards, but it's still somewhere for the team to play on a temporary basis, with the benefit of being closer to the rich folk in Phoenix then Glendale is.

Not sure what I would have done with the Bobcats/Hornets/Pelicans situation, but what ended up happening was the absolute worst of all options.

 

But seriously though, what would've been a better way to solve the NBA conundrum if what they did with the New Orleans/Charlotte situation was so horrible???

The Nassau Coliseum underwent extensive renovations before the Islanders moved back. The old Suns arena is in no condition to host the NHL and I doubt they can get it there. God, I've seen enough, call it.

If it makes you feel better, I'm sure they'll keep the kachina stuff up as part of the NHL vintage collection once the team moves.

Aside from the VMC talk, which is insane (but I guess I get it?), Tempe has issues too. Phoenix Rising just left Tempe and moved into a new building with a Coyotes like situation  specifically because they couldn’t get anything done in Tempe.

Just acknowledge that the cha hornets are the same franchise as the bobcats and the Pelicans the same as the old hornets. 
 

They need to make the decision at the time the team moves. Can’t retcon later.

The NHL let the Jets have the IP but not the records, so the Jets kludged it by tracking "Winnipeg NHL history," in other words, staking a claim to the 72-96 records in spite of what the league said and orphaning the Thrashers' records, which is fine enough, I guess. 

EDIT: if we somehow stop living in a terrible world for just one minute and Jeremy Jacobs lets Quebecor buy the Coyotes, it's likely that the NHL will have to do a messy Bobcats/Pelicans retcon to make a semblance of sense from the Jets and Nordiques interweaving, in which the Jets and Nordiques become continuous franchises that took naps, the Avs and Coyotes will have been new franchises, and the Thrashers and Coyotes ended. Yeah, it's stupid and annoying. Should have stopped Canadian teams from moving in the first place  

EDIT 2: "will have been new" is just bending laws of time and space, isn't it, this verb tense makes me tense

The NWHL is now the PHF because too many people could intuitively grasp what NWHL stood for. PHF sounds like one of the sixty-ten different abbreviations used by that crappy league with the team in Port Huron.

The logo needs some work.

The stars form a crown to symbolize achievement and ambition of the PHF athletes. The outline of the crown also forms a “Subtle ‘W’” to represent the concept of raising women to the top."

I thought it was supposed to look like the crown of the Statue of Liberty. Also, if you need more than a few sentences to explain what a logo is, then that logo sucks. It’s a visual representation of what your organization is supposed to represent not an abstract art project. Logos and memes have similar functions now that I think about it and coincidentally, putting a ton of text into a meme makes it suck too.
 

All that fluff just feels masturbatory to me.
