It's bad, and it takes far too much work for me to figure out it's supposed to be a horse. Maybe they should have worked on that before they started counting up rivets.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Henderson Silver Knights Unveil Logo, New Affiliate of Vegas

May 29, 2020 - 15:42 PM

Late last night, the Vegas Golden Knights officially introduced their new American Hockey League affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights who will play in Las Vegas while their permanent arena is constructed in nearby Henderson, Nevada. The Silver Knights are the […]

I like it. The H feels a little bit forced but the design is solid - closely tied to the parent club but definitely its own thing. Good branding.

Wonder what they'll come up with when it comes time to have an ECHL club - the Reno Bronze Knights, perhaps?

I'm not much of a hockey fan, much less minor-league, but I love everything about this. It does a great job of making their own identity while keeping the ties to the parent team obvious. The H feels natural, the horse is immediately recognizable, and the filigree is a nice detail. Easily one of my favorite looks in the AHL.

I still think they should've gone for Reno (to bolster their fanbase across the state).

Oh well, I suppose there's a place in the ECHL for the Reno Bronze Knights.

Reno doesn’t want the Knights.

Despite being in the same state as the Vegas teams, the area still lines up a LOT better with the SF Bay Area. Northern Nevadans mostly hate Southern Nevada, and due to how absolutely empty the state is, they don’t really mix together all that often like you would see with other rival cities.

I like what they tried to do, but something about the horse looks a bit awkward. I’m not sure what, but the rendering doesn’t look quite right between the positioning of the head and neck. I also think the crest is just a bit too ornate, I get there’s symbolism in it all but it really needs some simplification. Honoring a billion different things in one logo just isn’t that necessary in my opinion.

Yes that’s my take too. A more simple version of this logo would be perfect (kinda like the sketch shown).

This isn't that big of a deal to me, but why in the hell does every branding event (new uniforms,logos..etc) always have to have some deep reasoning behind every aspect? Not everything needs explaining. I could live with: " Hey, we like the way this looks. End of story"

That's the influence of Nike and it's patented Nikespeak. Nothing can just be the way it is because it looks good, it needs a story.

I like it. It's a clever minor league club name, and while the horse could use some work (namely the chainmail, come on guys) the H for Henderson further reenforces the parent club because of the V in Vegas' logo.
