That had to be one of the worst ways to lose a game I've ever seen in my lifetime.

Not the worst, but probably the dumbest. Why would a player ever think he wasn't going to get in trouble for doing that?

Michigan is such garbage 😂

This program isn’t even on the same level as Ohio State, and I’m starting to wonder why they’re even considered a “rival” any longer.

Michigan isn't an elite football program anymore. They're in the same boat as USC and Texas.

Is Harbaugh gone after this season? Not only has he underachieved at Michigan, but he still hasn't beat Ohio State yet.

He has two seasons left on his contract following this season.

He is 47-16, but it is the losses which are glaring:

0-4 vs.tOSU (not including today)

Six losses by 21 or more (not including today)

2-9 vs. Top 10 teams (not including today)

1-8 on the road against ranked opponents

There's language in his contract which will give him a 10% raise after the season OR language in which the AD and President can review the contract and give him a raise in line with the current contracts (think Dabo, Jimbo and Saban $$$).  If they let him go, he'll be due $12M.  There's also a crazy big life insurance policy the school put on him

Unless Nick Saban or Dabo Sweeney want to come to Michigan,  whose out there that has 1) a big name, 2)the ability to recruit just as well and 3) a hatred for Ohio State. James Franklin or someone like him? He's got the same big game issues though and he's more likely to go to USC (if it opens up) or Florida State if he decided to leave Happy Valley. And if you can't beat Ohio State at Penn State, why try at Michigan? And would Michigan fans be good with him coming in?

As for Georgia,  who thinks they drop to 5 if Alabama rolls Auburn? If Swift is out for the SEC Championship do they have enough left on offense to beat LSU? They may not have their top 2 receivers for the whole game either.

Michigan would probably do itself some good to accept the fact that they’re basically the B1G version of Tennessee. Their glory days are dead, buried, and rotted down to the skeleton. It’s probably about time they started acting like it

For as much of a beatdown they delivered today, I still don’t think Ohio State is really that good. I think a big chunk of their success is running up against a conference that’s pretty overrated (like they always are).

Clemson I think can handle this Ohio State team, and my God, the SEC is still going to absolutely eat them.

I-Formation Kirby Smart has no need to 1 WR, less a WR and Flanker/Split End.

I really don't think Alabama is the team to worry about, it is more OU.

Chase Young makes tOSU good.  It's Minnesota which I see as a fraud.

Georgia being ranked so high despite losing to the Gamecocks is the most fraudulent thing the committee has done since they chickened out on the Baylor vs. TCU thing and just picked Ohio State like a bunch of cowards. Granted, Ohio State won it all so... Dunno.

EDIT: I LOVE THE IRON BOWL!!

Is it okay to admit I was secretly hoping UW laid an egg against the Gerbils if it meant I wouldn't have to endure OSU beating Bucky down again?

Yeah, but Georgia's rank doesn't matter.  Either they beat LSU and they're in or they lose and they'e out.  What matters is the "it doesn't matter who you lose to!" argument the committee uses to justify ranking them.  It's frustrating watching them get bailed out by officiating every week too (maybe not this week).

Regarding Michigan-Ohio State, I've defended Jim Harbaugh quite a bit -- he's had some pretty crappy breaks in some rivalry games that if they go the other way his record looks a little better and they've been among the winningest programs since he's been there -- but yeesh, that team played so :censored:ing dumb today.  It didn't end up mattering since Ohio State ended up beating them by 1,000 but they played Ohio State even in the first half and had a double digit deficit because of some boneheaded mistakes.  Hard to defend Michigan's performance today.

It's like how Oklahoma State is supposed to be a rival to Oklahoma, Georgia Tech is Georgia's rival, or the Browns are the Steelers' rival. It's less a rivalry and more hammer vs. nail.

Cannot "Row The Boat" if the boat has holes. But they seem Pasadena bound.

If tOSU beats Wisconsin in Indianapolis, isn't The Tournament of Roses still taking Minnesota, since they "went last"?  Wisconsin will again fall below Minnesota in the CFP rankings, right.

https://tournamentofroses.com/rose-bowl-game-presented-by-northwestern-mutual-selection-procedures/

Quote

n both the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) and the CFP, if Pac-12 or Big Ten Conference Champion was selected to the National Championship or National Semifinals, that team was released to play in that game and the Tournament of Roses would select a replacement team. In the past, that allowed teams like the University of Texas (2005, 2006) or Texas Christian University (2010) to play in the Rose Bowl Game. Now, however, in the CFP-system, the Tournament of Roses may only select a team from its partner conferences.

Should a team from the Big Ten or Pac-12 be selected to go to the College Football Playoff, the Tournament of Roses will traditionally select the next-highest CFP-ranked team from that conference. There is, however, a caveat to that clause in the contract.

“If the next-highest ranked team is in a ‘cluster’ of teams, meaning there is another team or teams from the same conference ranked within several spots of each other, the Tournament of Roses will select the team from that cluster that will result in the best possible matchup for the Rose Bowl Game,” said Rose Bowl Management Committee Chair Scott Jenkins.

In a cluster situation, the Tournament of Roses will take into account factors, in no particular order, such as: the last time a team played in the Rose Bowl Game, head-to-head results, regular season schedule, overall record, opponents played, past playoff or bowl appearances and performance, and historical matchups.

It should be noted that it is the strong preference of the Tournament of Roses, Pac-12 and Big Ten Conferences, that the highest-ranked available team in each conference be selected as the replacement team.
