Uh, no.

Until Opening Day, we're all in 1st place.

Go Jays!

The Tigers have as good a chance as any team in the AL Central that is not Kansas City to win the division. They're a gamble where their offseason moves will either pay huge dividends or crash and burn like the Hindenburg.

I think the Tigers will challenge and make it look good, but I don't think anyone can get past Minnesota in the AL Central.

I believe the Braves will win the NL East ........... again. Philly hit their ceiling, and though the Nats will be better, they still won't challenge. If anyone challenges Atlanta, it will probably be the Mets. I think Randolph as manager is the right move for them.

The AL East is between the Yanks and Bosox again. Whoever doesn't win the division will be the AL Wild Card team.

I agree that Oakland's young staff will be their Achilles heal this year, so the Angels should win the AL West.

I figure the Dodgers will win the AL West putting "both of LA's teams" in the playoffs.

As for the NL Central, as good as the Cubs and Astros can be, I think the Cards will win again.

The Phillies will be two games out of first on July 31, but Ed Wade will refuse to trade Ryan Howard to pick up a player that will put them over the top. Jim Thome's complete lack of leadership will allow the team to fade and finish fourth in the division, but Charlie Manual will just chuckle and say "hey, at least we had a great time losing!" Ed Wade will receive a raise and contract extension, and the season ticket base will drop to <10,000.

What a homer... Mets and Yanks win? Not likely, but I bet you predict a Subway Series II? Hey if we're gonna play the homer game then here I go:

NL East Marlins

NL Central Brewers

NL West Marlins

NL Wild Card Brewers

(Marlins and Brewers are so good that they can take up multiple divisions)

AL East Red Sox

AL Central White Sox

AL West Green Sox

AL Wild Card Dirty Sox

(I'm out of Sox now...)

Here are my Predictions for this year:

AL East: New York Yankees 100-62

AL Central: Detroit Tigers 92-70( I think it will happen this year)

AL West: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 103-59

WildCard: Boston Red Sox 97-65

NL East: Florida Marlins 98-64(This will be the team that will knock off the Braves this season)

NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals 102-60

NL West: Arizona Diamondbacks(This division will be the tightest it has been in years. But I do believe that the Diamondbacks will be back on top. They may not have Randy Johnson, but they do have a young core of pitchers who will be pretty decent. The hitters will have a good year. Look for a great year from Luis Gonzales. My Prediction 96-66)

NL Wildcard: Chicago Cubs 95-67

But that's just me

Ah what the heck  I'll also throw in my surprise teams (as in teams I think will be in the hunt come September that might surprise a few folks)

AL East: Yankees

AL Central: Twins

AL West: Angels

AL Wild Card: Red Sox

AL Surprise Team: Tigers (If the youngsters in the rotation gel and the lineup comes around, I can see them giving the Twins all sorts of problems in the Central)

NL East: Marlins

NL Central: Cardinals

NL West: Padres

NL Wild Card: Braves

NL Surprise Team: Reds (Love the lineup, and adding a guy like Milton is a boost, IMO.)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say my Buccos won't be in playoffs any time soon. I'm going to say the mgmt. also further messes with Bay and Perez to drive them to do better so they can price themselves out of the 'burgh.
