Eh, I dunno. I actually like what the Isles did in their Edge transition. And if they're going to make that their primary home uniform, they better come up with a white version for the road. And if they're doing that, they just might as well go back to the actual Cup-era uniforms instead of constantly dicking around with all of these half-measures.

For all the bird de lis haters I think the bird de lis isnt supposed to be a pelican and a fleur de lis I think its just a fleur de lis with a pelicans head. Thats what it looks like to me. Also the flair around the tip of the beak is just flair that fleur de lis have sometimes source I am from NOLA.

Wasn't there some rule that the teams had to stick with the new edge designs for three years? My memory is hazy. But I expect we'll see lots of them go. The oilers have already talked about getting their hem stripes back, and I expect Vancouver will ditch the wordmark on the chest after the 2010 games, maybe move to this year's third as a primary.

Isles considering making their newly unveiled alt their future primary home jersey.

Good News????

No. If the Isles get rid of that yoke outline and the front number, their set would have a very clean look yet also be original and distinctive.

The throwbacks are meh at best.

I guess I am the only one who likes the Isles current jerseys.

Five posts above you, eagle-eye.

Yes.

However, if they are going to use an old jersey design I'd rather it be the "Dynasty Years" jersey instead of the current 3d which is the 72-73 inagural season jersey with switched numbers.

I was not a fan of the fishsticks jersey nor the hybrid with the original logo and I don't like the current set either. It seems especially when it comes to jersey design they've taken a major cue from the player personnel department and put out a half-a$$ed product. Going back to the set they won 4 cups in would do a lot to help start showing that the organization has some level of commitment to something other than abject mediocraty.

I'm really pulling for a swerve here and hoping the Penguins have done something dramatically different with their third. I'd much rather see a mostly new (besides edge-ification, obviously) jersey with elements of a throwback than just a throwback.

Mediocrity? We can only hope and dream that some time in a few years we will have achieved mediocrity.
