NIKE NFL Uniforms

It's too bad but the Redskins gold pants being a mess combined with the flywire on the white jersey have made their usually drab and boring red over white look far superior to the last year good looking white over gold. Not to mention the absolute beauty of Kirk Cousins sleeves.

I'll always be a fan of white over burgandy, but I still think the white over gold looks good, except for the collar.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

I agree with you, but it's the fact that so many easy fixes are just staring me in the face makes me almost want to hate the gold pants, especially with the white jersey. Looking at the above photo of Cousins...

Flywire sucks. Gold is too shiny. Stripe is wrong. Socks are wrong also. Cousins sleeves look cheap on white (but not on burgundy for some reason).

The Red over white is boring, I agree, but it's what the Redskins intended to wear when they first trotted out in that set back in the 70's. So I wish they would just consolidate and purify their elements. Would be fantastic.

For anyone watching the Chiefs vs. Packers on NFL Network right now, Green Bay backup QB Graham Harrell is in the game wearing a Reebok jersey that has the shoulder manufacturer logos blacked out with sharpie.

He had a Nike jersey on in the first half. Strange.

Maybe the jersey ripped or something and they quickly got a replacement from the locker room.

Per a note on Uni-Watch that is what happened - he got a rip in his Nike jersey and the only replacement they had for him was an old Reebok.

Seriously, football players don't/can't wear ripped jerseys any more?

The sport and society just keeps getting more and more feminized. Boo hoo, the QB got a rip on his jersey and a run in his panty hose.

Ripped jerseys in football used to be not only accepted, but encouraged. Now they need a new jersey when it gets a hole? Geesh.

Hey, romanticizing about "good old days" that never really happened (or at the least, were only "good old days" for wealthy white old men) is how half the politicians in this country get elected.

By the why... ripped jerseys were not only accepted, but encouraged? Why in the hell would they be encouraged? Think about that half time speech... "All right, men... get out there and RIP YOUR JERSEYS!!"

And the other half is elected by blaming that half for everything, race-baiting, demonizing people who actually contribute to society and creating a massive legion of welfare recipeints who will stay loyal to them to keep their meal checks coming, right? Yay overgeneralizations!

Fixing my beloved Cowboys isn't that hard. 1. Resurrect the metallic blue pants used during the 1976-77 season, when they weren't too blue or too gray. Ignore that funky color that they used for the back of the pants. 2. Distinctive serif number fonts, as evidenced by the number 5. 3. Replace all royal blue with navy blue, so that the jersey and pants match the blue stripes and star on the helmets. 4. Navy blue socks with two stripes. 5. Mandatory sleeves that come down to mid-bicep. 6. Match the helmet patina with the metallic blue pants. Present-day helmets are too gray.

Why?

Because the no-sleeves look is atrocious. It's like the players' arms are coming out of two shoulder holes. The sleeve stripes on the Dallas jerseys don't even go all the way around, so what's the point? The stripes should never be above the front uni numbers.

But since the current uniform cut and design has basically been that way since the late 90's and both the NFL and NCAA use it and obliviously the players prefer it, wouldn't it just be smarter for teams like the Cowboys to start looking for a creative approach to this if they feel like they must have stripes instead of attempting to make the sleeves longer? Longer sleeves are gone and are not coming back.
