They're in (mostly) school colors, they're bold and easily recognizable as ASU, and they're all the same style or template. No tone on tone logos, no one-sided designs, no unnecessary BS. If they're going to relegate Sparky to a back decal, the least they could do is not introduce new helmets every freakin' year. The maroon or black helmet pictured here would look good with a "pro combat" style uniform, but not for every game.Then again, I could see how a lot of people would like these. I really like the "new" uniforms, but wish Sparky was still featured on the sides of the helmet. I know that I'm not the only ASU alum here, so I'm curious to hear (...read?) what they have to say. If not, then I'm undecided. I'd have to see them with the rest of the uniform to really judge whether they're an upgrade or a downgrade. I do think that the simplicity of the helmets would help them. I like the pitchforks MUCH better than Sparky on the helmets. Sparky is a great logo as a primary, and I hate the Pitchfork as a standalone logo. But the forks work really well on the helmets where sparky always looked a bit goofy to me. Seeing them bigger and just as an outline is even better IMO.
