Alabama and LSU was a great classic looking game, as usual. But I really like how both teams uniforms translate into the new templates.

my alma mater, Troy Trojans, broke out some very grey/silver/adidasy alternates yesterday against georgia state.

pros: at least grey/silver is actually a team color, and it sorta fits the team image. i'm not entirely sure what is going on with the numbers, but i'm intrigued.

cons: big version of the helmet logo on the shoulders, meaning you've got 4 big versions of the same image in the same general real estate... and that awful adidas tire tread texture.

while the jersey isn't anything to write home about, i'd like to see some non-mono versions... those grey pants would look fantastic with the regular scarlet home jersey.... and i think scarlet or white pants could look pretty unique with the grey jersey.

I absoultely love these ASU uniforms.

I'm with ya. They are pretty darn sharp

they'd be even better with white pants with a single copper stripe, but as is, they're lovely.

You know, that was my first thought as well, but after seeing it in person I think I changed my mind. I like how the numbers were white at the top and faded to the dark copper. Having white pants with that would've looked sorta akward with that IMO. It was also tolerable because the few players that actually wore socks wore all white socks so it didn't have a leotard look. Kinda balanced the whole thing out nicely in a better way than white pants would've. It may have made the whole set look a bit unbalanced if there were white pants.

I hope we get to see more of this set (hopefully with a matching road jersey) next season.

I'm pretty sure alabama's jersey will translate onto any uniform template with acceptable results

I'd imagine it wouldn't be a problem. I'm sure you can just embroider a patch over virtually any material just like the numbers.

While watching the A&M vs Auburn game, I noticed A&M WR Speedy Noil (#2) was wearing what appeared to be a baggy long sleeved grey t-shirt under his uniform during the game. With all of the skin tight performance wear being the go to option for long sleeved accessories, it was odd to see a player wearing something so loose fitting in a sport where all the uniforms are as tight fitting as possible. Do any other players wear such baggy and/or mismatching accessories?

Yeah, the baggy long sleeve shirt has been trending this year. I remember when North Texas wore their blackout uniform and one of the players had on a big green shirt underneath, it really stood out. Michigan's kicker or punter (I forget which, but my sister pointed it out) was wearing one last weekend and I'm pretty sure Devin Gardner sometimes wears one, so it's not too rare

He wasn't the only one doing that. There were a good 4-5 A&M players at the very least that did it. A few Auburn players, Trovon Reed for certain, did too. And it wasn't really cold Saturday, so they weren't really necessary.

quite a few oregon players had ill fitting long sleeves in last year's civil war...I also noticed a db for asu had baggy white sleeves on...it was 90 at kickoff in tempe...why???

Correct and that continues to be the case that the vast majority of players prefer tight fitting football uniforms. There will always be outliers that choose to be different either based on preference or fashion.

I noticed that as well. There were a few others doing it too. Doesn't look good IMO, but they probably just feel more comfortable in it.

We, South Carolina, have a couple DBs that do that. Maybe they think it helps them get a better grip when arm tackling.

It's a "Blackout", so they're trying to make everything as dark as possible... excluding the numbers.

I did. Tried to make a t-shirt with it at one of those online printers, but it got rejected.

I don't know if it will actually happen or not, but usually once a year, a grassroots "blackout" campaign starts for Georgia. This is that week. Reporters are asking at the press conferences, banners are announcing it on campus, etc. Richt has said there was no way it was happening, but assistant coaches and players have hinted at it on Twitter. He also said it wasn't happening for the first blackout in 2007 and that turned out to be a surprise for the players. In ultimate trolling fashion, he wore a black polo today. At the least, if there aren't black jerseys, I expect the crowd to be predominantly black, even if a blackout isn't formally announced.

Toledo will be wearing new helmets again.

The oldschool interlocking "UT" in navy blue over a gold silhouette of Ohio, on a white helmet.

Expected to be worn with all white jersey/pants.
