Sport 13,734 Posted June 27, 2015 and the Dolphins can just re-stripe and re-logo their helmets with throwback logos and stripes because their helmet shells are the same color as their current helmets so they the one helmet rule doesn't affect them. While they're at it they should just wear the throwbacks for every game from here on out, howbout?
sportzfan 60 Posted June 27, 2015 and create a white version as well so we don't ever have to see the current jerseys again

I'll be buying it for sure and I hope they'll sell way better than the regular jerseys this season to make a statement.
oldschoolvikings 17,433 Posted June 27, 2015 Have we seen the Dolphins new alts yet? I was at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise tonight and an employee at Sportville put up a single aqua Tannehill youth jersey with the new nike template but old school Dolphins striping and numbers in the same rack as the regular ones. I knew she must had made a mistake so I asked her if it was the new alt but she seemed unaware and told me it was a vintage jersey and she put it back up after I showed her. I must say it looked pretty awesome. As far as I know they haven't been unveiled yet. That's really interesting that some stores have them already. You should try to get a picture if you can.Holy Crap, that's purty.
FiddySicks 11,047 Posted June 27, 2015 Sigh. This is exactly why the Dolphins should've just went the throwback route to begin with. Their current look is so good incredibly lifeless compared to anything they had before that they're ALREADY busting out a throwback. Just fix the mistake already, Dolphins. Go back to the classic look.
Gothamite 23,661 Posted June 27, 2015 There's always a danger when introducing a throwback uniform into a team's set, that it could end up looking better than the primaries. Make the primary set look bland and lifeless. It was true for the Brewers, it was true for the Rams, and it's now true for the Dolphins.

Once they introduced a throwback their '06 set was doomed. It's what's going to happen to Cleveland in 2 or 3 years.

fouhy12 1,237 Posted June 28, 2015 While those Dolphins jerseys look great on the fan jerseys, I have a feeling they won't look as great on the field. I think the stripes will get either cut off or scrunched up, making the jerseys basically look like an aqua version of what the Browns wore last year. It also sucks that these jerseys will result in the current aqua jerseys being worn even less.
AndrewMLind 2,296 Posted June 28, 2015 I know it's NFL rules, but that's why I dislike the manufacturer logo placement. Full sleeves stripes look great at the college level because the manufacture logo is on the chest, but it forces the stripes further down into the template as is. People always wonder how Iowa can look better than the Steelers, and that's exactly why (Some will argue number font, but that's another debate for another time). If not for that rule, they'd look as beautiful as Ohio State in the playoffs.

So many want current NFL teams to look like they did back in the day with the overly striped jerseys, but they do not quite work in the current era. The Lions, Steelers, and Cowboys are all currently suffering from this issue. At least the Browns have sort of fixed this with their current new look. These throwbacks are great to wear for fans, but the Dolphins' current set are absolutely perfect and look amazing on the field.
jp1409 1,936 Posted June 28, 2015 Does the one helmet rule applies to shells only? I wonder if they'll go with white facemasks if so.
Old School Fool 4,153 Posted June 28, 2015 Does the one helmet rule applies to shells only? I wonder if they'll go with white facemasks if so.The Bears use grey facemasks when they wear throwbacks, so the Dolphins are probably going to do that.I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you're gonne do a throwback then you need to go all the way. If you can't be bothered to get a proper helmet, then why even bother at all?
Red Wine Pirate 43 Posted June 28, 2015 Does the one helmet rule applies to shells only? I wonder if they'll go with white facemasks if so.This shouldn't be an issue under the one-helmet rule since their current helmet is white. The equipment managers only need to swap stickers and facemasks.

Go back to the classic look......Lifeless? I like these throwbacks, but if anything, the throwbacks are more "lifeless" than their current identity.Lifeless is a pretty good description of the current Dolphins uniform. From the lack of orange, to the bland corporate-style logo, to the brighter aqua (which in theory should have been nice, but in practice just looks faded and washed out) it does look like someone systematically took the old uniform and drained the life out of them. While those Dolphins jerseys look great on the fan jerseys, I have a feeling they won't look as great on the field. I think the stripes will get either cut off or scrunched up, making the jerseys basically look like an aqua version of what the Browns wore last year. I wonder if they'll go with white facemasks if so.My guess is they'll go with gray to be accurate to the throwback, which won't look as nice as the aqua mask did, but will be an improvement over white.
