NFL 2017 changes?

Why don't they just paint the logos on at this point? Do they have some crazy deal with 3M or whoever forcing them to keep the stickers?... Actually, yeah. Knowing the NFL, they probably do.

Seems like hydroskins would be a decent move forward.

I guess the decals help when it comes to doing throwbacks and Color Rush.  See Rams, Dolphins, Chargers, Giants...

Honestly, most NFL teams' decals look relatively cheap compared to what we use.. It makes sense, considering they probably change them weekly and don't want too much wasted money tied up in them.. That's just a hunch based on what I've seen..

I find it interesting that the Falcons are using the throwback logo for their hat. I kind of like it.

That hat is available is both red and black with both the current and throwback logos, not just the throwback.

So they really ditched the beautiful sideline hats they had since New Era took over? And to make things worse they ditched the absolutely flawless ones in favor of these monstrosities? What the :censored:ing heck? Dear New Era, can you at least leave us the option to buy the old ones? I mean thirty bucks is thirty bucks and I won't be spending a dime on the new clown hats...

This definitely looks like something Big Boi would wear, and that's not a bad thing.

@TFoA would wear this too, I'd bet.

Maybe I'm showing my age...but why in the hell is there a pattern on the brim that is not team specific. That way it would be hideous but hideous with purpose.

There have been dozens of NFL hats with pant stripes.

Which (if any) new On-Field Caps do you think look good?

I'm of the opinion that none of the '17 New Era caps will look all that endearing, but I can live with these two. The Falcons' throwback logo looks nice against the red, and the star of Dallas works nicely against the silver grey.

I still would prefer New Era kept the caps they sold back in 2012, however I find some of their gimmicks to be decent. I quite liked their draft caps this year:

Raiders Schutt F7 helmet.

I was one of the ones saying player safety is more important than how a helmet looks, but that is hideous. It needs some serious redesigning. Don't see why it needs all those ridges and holes, I know the sides have more padding but what prevents them from still making a round helmet? The holes maybe do give some flexibility to the helmet where needed so that I could live with. The 2 plates on top I can live with too because it does help with safety and not much worse than the speed flex.

But how would you be able to tell that it's their proprietary design if it doesn't have all those ridges and holes?
