Love that my Rockets are using two jerseys for the playoffs (at least in the first round, which shouldn’t last too long). The red “HOUSTON” jerseys are much better than the normal reds. And the black uniforms on the road have become normal. I like that they are staying away from the primary set, but I wish they would have worn the whites at least once!

Good. The Fiesta colors don’t fit at all with the organizational culture under Popovich.

However, if San Antonio’s AAA baseball team wanted to use them, go ahead!

I'd be fine with a Spurs Fiesta alternate jersey, or a special occasion jersey. Something new with classic colors.

Why not? It's a very nice color scheme and I'm a fan of retro. Definitely not full on throwback, but a partial return would be great.

The thing is the Spurs never wore the fiesta colors on their uniforms. The closest it got was the warmups and floor.

I wish they had been able to justify using the ~*iconic*~ Golden Gate Bridge instead of a Bay Bridge expansion no one cares about, and Copperplate is wretched (esp. the squashed numbers), but other than that, I love the logo in the front as a signature design element.

I’ve said this on here before and it usually falls on deaf ears, but while the GGB is more iconic visually, the Bay Bridge is much more important to the Bay Area functionally. It gets a ton more use every year and changed the dynamics of San Francisco and it’s connection to the rest of the Bay Area in ways the GGB simply couldn’t have.

As for nobody caring about about the new span, I disagree with that wholeheartedly. That project took an insane amount of time and resources, and it replaced a span of the bridge that was dilapidated to the point where people were literally crushed to death in a major earthquake in the late 80s (just to give you a feel for how long it was needed). The logo representing that span of the bridge (Oakland to Treasure Island) was important because it kept the classic bridge concept intact while giving Oakland the representation it deserved. Also, the Bay Bridge isn’t just bigger than the GGB, it’s also older (by about five months). The new Bay Bridge is also the longest bridge in the world connected by a single span (just to give a feel for the enormity of the project).

I’m wondering if they plan on modifying/changing the logo with the move to better match the new location. Apparently they’re changing everything next year so we’ll see if that logo stays in the East Bay. I kind of think it should change, but I can see the challenge that may pose as well with this current run.

I don't doubt any of that, I'm just saying it doesn't mean much to me from 2,000 miles away. Whether it should have to is the larger philosophical question, I guess.

spacer.pngOutside of the horrendous crowd colors clashing with Portland, I would venture to say that this has been one of my favorite uniform matchup so far this season.

As a tangent, these boards get unbearable this time of year. I'll check them religiously earlier in the season when new uniforms have yet to be unveiled. But there is so much complaining, bickering, and attack of opinion happening right now. It feels insufferable.

If I felt that I wanted more of that in my life, I would have spent an extra weekend at my parents. Let's all try to be more civil and kind. Anyways, happy 420 all!

I disagree.  The combo of those two clashing uniforms, plus the ugly ass court, plus the nasty orange shirts in the crowd . . . the whole thing was visually disgusting.

Portland, please wear black on Sunday.

The Blazers will be in their black/dark grey City uniform tomorrow. OKC will be in white.

I really like that OKC alternate uniform. Paired with the orange base layer accents, that’s a very nice touch. MUCH better than the primary look.

If there’s any team that should embrace more of a Native American theme, it’s the Thunder.

It’s weird but it works, that red uniform is surprisingly really nice. I still prefer the black but disgusting is such an overstatement. Orange was definitely a mistake on okcs part though.

Ur right about the court and the crowd. But other then that it’s a simple color vs color red vs teal matchup. Looks good to me imo

Every uni set OKC wears has looked much better since they started wearing the orange accessories.

So they keep releasing series after series of new special alternates. But the logo always remains the same horrible clipart with Thunder slapped across.

They got it all wrong!

Sometimes i feel like that, other times it just looks like there are giant carrots everywhere. I think it depends on the combo.

If teams want to wear multiple uniforms during the season - then fine.

I wish they would restrict it in the playoffs.  Just white at home and what is closest to the primary dark uniform on the road in the playoffs.  Casual fans may be tuning in more during this time.  Watching the Detroit Pistons in black and grey would be confusing to fans who do not follow regularly.

Honestly, some of the multiple uniforms are bad and compromise the identity of the team.  Starting to dip the NBA into uniform concepts that look minor league.  Teams should have classy looking pro basketball uniforms.  Home, away and a third that fit with their colour scheme and identity.

As people who follow sport uniforms, we should be able to tell someone easily what a team's colour scheme is.  It is getting to the point that I do not even know what the actual Houston Rockets' colour scheme is anymore.
