The sad thing is, those 2017 color rush jerseys are the best unis they've had since the re-design in 2003.

Not sure how anyone can come to the conclusion that those were better than either throwback option they have worn since then. Though, I wore the color rush uniforms with black socks on Madden the other day to try and balance the look a bit -- it wasn't terrible. But still, the most recent throwbacks are about as good as a uniform can get.

Why did you skip the Raven regular uniforms, for a one time, piss stained atrocity? The Ravens wore those pants for a few games, one year out of their history.

Well actually, they only ever wore them once — which was during a loss vs. KC with QB #3-of-4 in 2015, Jimmy Clausen (to go along with injured Joe Flacco, Matt Shaub & eventually Ryan Mallett...YIKES!) — thanks to rightful fan backlash! Source: I am a Baltimore Ravens fan & PSL owner since day one (Currently primary of all 4 Sec 147 Row 29 aisle seats ever since Pops passed away in November 2018).

Additionally, I followed the ongoing outrage that ensued, including the official website stating things like "We heard you" and holding polls with a "for fun" disclaimer. Unsurprisingly, most fans preferred the three purple pants options (with black, white & purple tops, in that order) over the three GREY pants versions (with black, purple, and white jerseys, in that order) and a seventh option of keeping the gold pants, but with the same striping pattern as the white pants, rather than the Pittsburgh-wannabe versions of thick, black center striping pattern!

After all, those mustard gold pants didn't even get the stripes correct, as they were purple/black/purple...what an overall goofy gaffe! If not for the black helmet, and perhaps tweaked to a more metallic look, they might not have been as bad with the 'Color Rush' jerseys, actually. But, as I just alluded, it would probably need an inclusion of something like the 'Blaze' alternate helmets marketed a couple years ago, thus no need — let alone the fact that it wouldn't even be permitted by league rules — to keep messing with a modern, classic look!

P.S. Speaking of 2015, that was the second time ever that the Ravens sported an anniversary patch, and they are 2-for-2 in subpar, losing seasons (6-10 in 2005 & 5-11 in 2015) when doing so. Apparently, at least according to the organization at the time, they had already planned upon making a much bigger deal out of the 25th season — which is of course upcoming in 2020 — than the 20th one back then. Henceforth, I fully expect a patch to be worn again this year, but hopefully the third time is the charm for 'Charm City'!

If we're being honest here, I miss the original throwbacks. I think Blank does too. And I think we're getting a red helmet.

I think the black top looks bad with the red helmet. Maybe It’d be better if the face mask was black, but I don’t think that’s a good look. Typically IMO if the helmet and jersey and pants don’t match, either the helmet should be darker, or both equal (like both primary colors like the Bills). I can’t think of any exceptions.

Hot take:  The red helmet look for the Falcons is very overrated.  Keep it simple and give me the late 90's/early 00's look!  Such a simple jersey, no frills -- but it's clean.  It works.  The pants striping is strong.  I'm a big fan of this look.

I liked when they looked like the Raiders with a little bit of red. I like the red helmet but prefer the black helmet.

Did the Falcons change to black uniforms in 1990 because of Jerry Glanville, or is it possible that the "Black in Back" theme was already planned and then Glanville (who loved wearing black) was just a perfect hiring for them? Clearly branding and uniforms in 1990 weren't as supply-chain heavy as they are in the modern era.

Funny, to me the pant striping is the odd man out in this set. All else is stripeless and then there is a red/white/black/white/red stripe on the pants. Doesn't mesh like the older uniform (with sleeve and helmet stripes) did. Also didn't like the logo having a red outline on the jersey but not on the helmet. Consistency lacks.

The Falcons need to bring back the silver-ish pants.  Red helmet, black helmet, whatever - bring back the greyish-silver-whatever pants.  Those were, as the kids say, fire.

True but if there were no stripes on the pants it would be wayyy too plain.  The pants stripes give it a little flair.  The stripes really pop especially next to the stripeless helmet and jersey.  Personally, I don't need everything to be super consistent and matchy, it can work in other ways.

I just really don't love the black helmet+black jersey look for the Falcons.  I think the old red helmet+black jersey sets look great, and I think black helmet+red jersey could look nice (I just hate the piping and paneling on the current set), but black over black just looks bland to me.

I love that uniform, but I personally much prefer the Falcons in black helmets. Red is most definitely CRIMINALLY under represented in the NFL helmet colors universe, but I don’t think the Falcons should be the team that makes that switch.

I personally would rather see the Bills change back to red lids. Their set is damn near perfect right now (for the Bills, anyway), but a red helmet would be a nice distinguishing feature, and it’s a nod to their most successful NFL days.

That's an instance where the gray facemask looks out of place and dumb.  I hate red lid / black shirt, but the mask needs to be black, otherwise the helmet is too "light".

Make the mask black, and reduce the thickness of the white strokes and maybe it's salvageable.
