Yeah, Brady to the Bucs seems strange on the surface, but this team is actually trending in the right direction for the first time since the Bush administration. They’ve basically been a quarterback away from having a potentially great offense for a few seasons now. I think Brady might show everyone just how miserable Jameis Winston really was.

Fitzmagic was throwing like four 60 yard TDs a week at the beginning of 2018.

Buccaneers American footballer Ryan Fitzpatrick is seriously ...

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

I know this is just a concept and I really do understand the appeal for orange, but the pewter and orange just do not mix well together in large doses. Why?

If you look at the Bucs color scheme, you can see that they currently have an "analogous" color scheme (neighboring colors on the wheel).

However, if you remove or minimize red from the scheme, you then switch to a monologous/monochromatic color scheme, as you can see that the orange and the pewter are essentially in a straight line from one another on the color wheel. And while that works for certain teams (the Browns would be one team that come to mind), I don't think it fits for a historically vibrant team like the Buccaneers.

If you want to elevate orange, you have to ditch the pewter.

Why is there a black nike swoosh with a red outline in this pic?

Edit: never mind just bad lighting.

Note to the Falcons, this is how you use a heavily stylized display font... sparingly. The word mark has the character and the numerals complement without trying to be another word mark.

Can someone set up a redirect that replaces every ugly orange+pewter image with something akin to the croc with shades meme?  Maybe gangsta animals?

The only thing that would make that white jersey acceptable is to pair it with a white helmet, otherwise it is plain, awful jersey.

This belongs in the unpopular opinions thread.

Tompa Bay?  GTFO.  Also nice use of the now-defunct font.

It just looks like a knockoff where someone spelled it wrong.

Tompa Bay. God, that’s so fitting for this hokey ass football team.

In defence of Bucco Bruce and the creamsicles...

First I want to say that I am pretty damn happy with the new unis the Bucs rolled out. Yeah, they didn't choose the right versions of the flag and ship logos but whatever. They fixed 99% of what was broken and hearkened back to a pretty cool uniform. No complaints, really.

With that being said...I wanted to defend the creamsicle set. Particularly against the assertion that the creamsicle orange, red, and white colour scheme was "too bright" for a team called the Buccaneers. That a pirate name required a "darker" colour scheme. To which I say...

Again, the look they went with works, and works well. I am just putting it out there that the Bucco Bruce colour scheme was not inherently un-pirate-like.

Orange was clearly a tertiary color on the classic Super Bowl sets. It appeared on the helmet, numbers, logos and pant stripes, so why are all of the reports saying orange "returned" with the 2014 set? It was made more prominent then, but just because it was marginalized in 1997 doesn't mean it wasn't tertiary. Just an odd detail I've noticed in the reporting, since that's what we do here. 😀 Keeping the original colors (or at least shades of them) while making such a drastic change was always part of the genius of the update to me. They could have just gone to red and pewter, but they didn't.

While I agree with the general point of your post, orange was the 4th or 5th most prominent color on the Super Bowl set.. it took a back seat to red and pewter to be sure, but black also got some heavy attention, and while I generally don't consider white to be a "team color" for most teams, it was still used in larger amounts than orange on that set..
