Thank you for the correction. That defense was amazing and its funny how things can change with the switch of a quarterback. Even if it is going from one mediocre QB to another. What changed with Dilfer at the helm that led to the offense producing more?

Short fields to work with.

Yeah, that can help too.

If only they could have figured out a way to maximize the talents of Lewis and Priest Holmes.  The offense actually could have been pretty good.

Priest Holmes was the engine that made the Vermeil offense run as smoothly as it was. Hell, the offense the Chiefs had then was nothing short of amazing but the defense couldn't stop a Pop Warner team. Everyone here when I was growing up was wishing for a half-competent defense. Too bad it never showed up until 2019.

That offensive line was legendary though. Willie Roaf, Brian Waters, Casey Wiegmann, Will Shields and John Tait. Those guys were the ones who really put in the work. It's how someone like Larry Johnson managed to make bank. Too bad he was a stupid POS because that man had some talent.

Did people honestly think that he was just going to come in and start to produce right away? The man hadn't played a down of football in over a year.

Keep in mind most fantasy owners draft on name recognition alone rather than stats. And considering that ESPN is in Bristol, CT and said studio is damn near equidistant from Foxboro and East Rutherford, players from the Pats, Jets and Giants are going to get more attention even if the teams aren't all that great. Explains the "This year the Jets aren't going to crap the bed" analysis that arrives every August.

So of course Gronk and Brady would be hyped. After all, nothing says Super Bowl contender like a 43-year old quarterback coming off his worst season ever and a bruised, broken and battered tight end that hasn't played a down in a year. But, people see the names and don't think about those things.

Falcons CB AJ Terrell becomes the first player in-season to miss a game due to COVID. Testing was Friday morning and Atlanta was alerted of the positive test today. Now the team must go through contact tracing from Friday’s practice.

the smart money was on a Florida team to be first affected, but I guess Georgia and Texas would have been next in line.  Not surprising.
