CS85
I feel like resignation was justified. If you want to call it cancel culture, so be it, but this is a good case of actions having consequences, and in this day and age, you can't loosely throw around homophobic slurs and sexist material as a public figure. You just can't. This macho slop that Gruden was so comfortable slinging around is the old way of football, and it's not welcome anymore. Texts, social media, emails - these things are admissible in actual court, not just the court of public opinion. Don't feel too bad for this guy; he's a millionaire a dozen times over and after some time out of football I'm sure he'll get some lucrative media gig where he'll fall on the sword and swear he's changed. 7 Quote Quote "You are nothing more than a small cancer on this message board. Either that or he'll steer into the skid. This is depressingly true. I know people don’t like the same protections they enjoy also being enjoyed by other, genuine :censored:heads, but imagine if the company you (the Royal you) worked for leaked unsavory emails you sent (over a decade ago!) in order to coerce you into quitting. I’m sorry, Gruden was absolutely in the wrong on that one, but that move by the league feels somehow even worse. This should’ve been a slam dunk for the NFL, but instead they probably walk away looking worse than even he does. I’m not sure why people can’t acknowledge that what Gruden did was a fireable offense AND the way the league handled this is horrible. One doesn’t cancel the other out. 7 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
