Dodgers will not be wearing the 2022 all star game patch on the sleeve of the jersey this season?🤔

very disappointing, Atlanta did last year,  and it is usually something teams do ☹️

That's disappointing. Even if they've decided to go with a single uniform for the All Star game, I liked teams wearing a patch when hosting. I know they have several memorial patches on the right sleeve, but just put it under the swoosh like the NCAA teams would do for the College World Series.

I don't think the Dodgers have any memorial patches on the right sleeve this year. Last year they did but not this year.  Either the All Star Patch or the Dodger Stadium patch would have looked great...not sure why they went with the blank sleeve.

The supply chain issues put us at an interesting point, or rather an throwback point.

Uniform supply problems, sudden changes in manufacturers, stop gap measures, uneven attention across baseball were all pretty commonplace in the first century of baseball.

Teams often relied on rinky dink operators in their home cities to provide the patches, numbers, and repairs that needed to happen. And that's even if they were largely all buying their base uniform from the Spaulding Company (see for example May & Halas for the Cubs). Those providers were subject to any number of problems.

I don't know if that's another supply chain thing but they really should have a Tommy Davis memorial in addition to the other two options that were mentioned.

Shouldn't we start seeing the holiday caps by now? Mother's Day is 3 weeks away

I bet "global supply chain issues" won't be an issue to get those on the field and sold in stores/online.

Todays look was red caps on the road.  So thats red every game they've worn them except the one yesterday where they wore the alt snake black hat. The regular black hats have not been worn yet this year.  And yeah, they look a lot more like they did when they first rebranded to this color scheme back in 2007.

I bet because it's new they're wearing the crap out of it early in the year to get more visibility and it'll probably be used less the more we get into summer.

I wish these supply chain issues were worse and some teams only had gray or white jerseys.  Anything to get Fanatics kicked to the curb.

Also, in uniform schedule news, the Brewers are back to wearing the pinstripes only during Friday home games.  Last two seasons it was all weekend home games.  Personal prediction, they made that decision to open up more space to wear their City Connect jerseys, which will be powder blue and become a natural alternate jersey.

Also, the Dodger blue 42 on the back was a swing and a miss.  Keep the 42 on the back and/or front the team's font, have the patch on the sleeve, and call it a day.

Is this sarcasm?

This is probably sarcasm, but for teams that expect a certain amount of stock every year, I could see where it would cause some issues. Teams kinda supplement their equipment staff’s time to launder these items by having an alternate set to ease some of that burden. Not having the extra jerseys just means they don’t have anything to swap out for, and all of the jerseys have to be laundered way more often, which trust me from experience, can be a bit of a :censored:.

Now, you could argue that there are teams like the Yankees and Dodgers who don’t wear alts, but they supplement that by having extra sets of the home/road jersey. If the Rangers only have, say, 40% of their expected jerseys to work with, that could in the very least be a huge headache.

Yeah the supply chain is actually crazy. I work for a hockey store that also carries community lettermen jackets and both have had massive supply chain issues. We recently changed jacket manufacturers to make the time to get the jackets a lot quicker. They’re only supposed to be a few hours away by truck. It was supposed to change the delivery time from 6-8 weeks to 3-4… However since October, letter jackets have take roughly 14-16 weeks to get in. And the manufacturer has nothing really to say to us other than they don’t have the stuff yet…

And it’s the same with our various associations’ apparel orders. Everything is months behind. So it makes a ton of sense that random, very specific colors are really hard to come by especially in the quantity needed by an MLB team. I guess it’ll only be time until various teams start running out of grey and white jerseys too.

Lol quite a few of the recent huge investments in Fanatics are from the leagues themselves. Fanatics isn’t getting kicked to the curb anytime in the next few decades.

Not sure if I said it in this thread but I'm predicting something based on the peoples flag. Maybe "Brew City" across the front in the 1980s style script.
