looks like Saints are wearing their  gruesome black helmet in London v Vikings.  Sorry Brits.

It is quite weird they won't even wear it at home.  Hoping a new alt helmet comes along in 2023.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Vikings white vs. Saints black is another one of these color matchups that can't ever seem to happen anymore. The last 9 matchups have featured the Vikings in purple and the Saints in white. You have to go all the way back to this day for the last time the Saints wore black against Minnesota:

Other matchups like this that never happen anymore that come to mind include:

Dolphins white vs. Bengals black (2012)

Chiefs white vs. Bengals black (2009)

Bengals white vs. Jets green (2010)

Texans white vs. Chargers in any shade of blue (2007)

Everyone complains about teams going all-in on black or white, but then one team is courageous enough to choose a different color for its road uniform and you all pitch a fit.

Can't have it both ways, friends.

I don’t have a problem with all-black OR all-white as long as there is contrast from the socks. I loved the Panthers’ all-black look with blue socks. Back when the Colts still wore blue socks full-time, I loved their road look. And the Bills’ all-white would look fantastic if the socks were either solid blue or those gorgeous stripey ones they’ve apparently decided they hate.

My single biggest problem with uniform combos today is the lack of contrast. You can go really heavy with one color, but you need contrast in there SOMEWHERE.

I would add Seahawks white vs. Cardinals red (2014) which is crazy for division rivals.

We see Cardinals red vs Seahawks grey and Seahawks blue vs Cardinals white almost every year, we’ve seen neon green vs all black multiple times, and even black vs grey on SNF that one time, but you have to go to 2014 for the last time Seattle wore white vs the cardinals (white/navy vs. all red). The only other time Seattle wore white vs. AZ with the current set was the first regular season game with the set: week 1 2012 (white/grey vs. red/white)

If we're talking about uniform matchups that haven't happened, the Dolphins have yet to play the Patriots wearing aqua over white in their 2013/2018 set. We've seen the Dolphins wear the aqua over white throwbacks and aqua over aqua on multiple occasions against New England in that timespan, but never aqua over white.

In a similar situation, the Jets have not worn green over white against New England in their new set and that will not change this year. The Jets have worn all-white for the last three meetings, including one at MetLife, wore all-black in 2020, and green over green with white socks in 2019. They already announced they're wearing black against New England this year, so it will take year 4 in the new set at the earliest for the Jets to wear their default home uniform against a division rival.

I was thinking more just jersey colors, but this is also an interesting observation. This year, opening day will likely be the first time they've worn white on white with the 2018 set vs. the Pats. It's been throwback every time. Even 2019 was white throwback.

3 white jersey home games? Gross.

Week 1, week 3, and week 18. With these horrible white jerseys they have now, the only time the should do white at home is against Dallas. Its a shame that burgundy won't be worn more times at home as it is their best look now.
