Cause it looks like the sword and flag got an update too, so you can throw that argument out the window. Neither the flag/ sword/ skull & cross swords resemble a specific time period (anymore-debateable).Well, maybe that's a good question. Here's what I'm seeing...The flag and skull are supposedly a representation of things from the past. Admittedly, a simplified, almost "cartoon" representation, but still... pirate sword, tattered flag, these are not modern elements, agreed? Now, the new skull and crossed swords have, at least apparently to a lot of the posters on this board, a decidedly modern style to them... faux-gloss highlights, the biker/angry/terminator facial features. Add to that the IMO inarguable fact that the skull isn't rendered in a way that makes it feel as though it's actually a part of the flag... it's a flat element superimposed onto a form that, in theory at least, should have some flow to it. It doesn't look attached to the flag, it looks like it's floating just above the surface of it.Look, I don't like it, you like it, that's fine. It's design... nothings going to appeal to everyone. But the accusation of "you're over reaching on the design here just for the sake of argument" is patronizing nonsense. I was equally as shocked as the rest when they announced their uniform change, but wow, 113 pages with really nothing to offer? I've seen the Limited versions in person and outside of the odd number font, they really don't look as bad as this thread makes them out to be.
