The new coach is all about renewing the program. He was an assistant for the team back in the mid-90s. I think he's trying to go a little more traditional.I DID like the matte gray with the gray pants since the school's colors are red and gray. BUT1. As a one-off, it was a safe opportunity to sort of "be the first..." at something.. Nike usually sets the bar and is usually first on scene with the "new" thing, so Adidas took the opportunity to push the envelope a bit.. If it's a huge hit, they'll get tons more customers.. If it flops, it's a one-off, so no harm no foul.. Hats off for them at least trying to do something original (although an epic fail).2. The numbers are heat pressed on, not screened.. It would be tough to achieve a chrome-esque effect with screen ink, but fairly easy with one of their 5 heatpress options (chameleon, chrome silver, chrome/metallic gold, gloss/chrome black, and matte red)3. Haven't looked into the techfit 3.0 much other than the pattern (which I prefer because it finally separates the sleeve as its own piece, rather than the previous sleeve/yoke combo that resembles the titans), but with that said, for the first two iterations of the techfit series, they offered techfit and techfit-shockweb.. They each used the same template, but techfit didn't have the "tire tread" pattern.. Shockweb IS the tire tread pattern, so the term "techfit" is ONLY a reference to the template, but the multi-tonal tire tread pattern found on some techfit items is referred to as "shockweb", which is why it's present sometimes and absent others, just depends which jersey a team orders.
