:censored: this thing. :censored: everything about it.

This logo was on the team's jackets from about 1977 to 1981.It was never on any hat and was not popular.Fast forward to 2012 and this logo becomes popular along with the licence plate uniforms of the White Sox from 1982-1986 in the eyes of the 35 year olds and younger.Last year the batting practice hat was this swinging sox logo. The jersey needs to lose the sleeve Sox ad well as the teams road "chicago" jersey.Just too much there.

Another one I can't believe: The Cards have dropped their signature sock stripes!

Cripes I hope not. I'll be really disappointed if that's the case. Stance is now "officially" the sock of MLB, so maybe it's an option for the players who choose to wear long pants...hopefully.

I'm just going to be that guy and say the Mariners' trident logo sucks.

It's ok in some applications, such as on the throwback caps where it's a flat stitched logo in the classic colors. In this case, with the puff embroidery and in the current colors? Terrible.

The poorly-rendered star, the shoddy double-outline, the odd perspective on the trident, and the relative lack of yellow all create a near-illegible logo that simply looks like a muddy blob from a distance. Say what you want about the bland drop shadow-S, but at least you could tell what it was from a distance and it incorporated yellow. I'd take that over the '81-'86 logo any time of day. The navy leaf is the only thing that comes close to being as nasty as this thing. The block C is merely bland, the "Black Jays" cap logo wasn't poorly-rendered (and it made us appreciate the current Toronto in a way that wouldn't have been possible otherwise), and the grey/orange "NY" is still based on a well-rendered cap logo.

Maybe it was PhantomDreamer and his incessant campaigns for the re-adoption of the '81-'86 Mariners identity, pullovers/sansabelts, and full-time powder blue road uniforms that made me loathe this logo, I don't know. At the very least, extended exposure to this logo made me acutely aware of its flaws.

Admittedly, when I went to look for worse cap logos, I found that most of the worst logos in the game aren't what goes on the cap.  The problems with the ones I posted are that they are either boring, ill-fitting, or both, which I guess are the worst sins to me in this area.  While I consider the S to be worse given that it is boring-looking AND just bad looking.  It's somehow both too stock and too complex.  Serifed font that almost seems un-copyrightable with a strange inconsistent drop shadow that's incredibly thick, enough to throw off the logo from looking centered.

That being said, I've only ever seen the star trident in image form.  Looking for actual physical versions, I see some horrific things.  How accurate are these to how they looked on-field?

Or, if you have a sense of history, it looks like this.

Wow.  I was almost sure you'd photoshopped that, but a cursory search shows that really does exist.  Well done, sir.

except the original had red piping on all the seams between all the panels (save the one down the front), and this new one only seems to have it around the front two panels.

Can someone answer some rays questions? Apparently, they have three spring training hats this season. The navy blue one, the Columbia blue one, and the new white panel hat.  I only remember them using the navy one and keeping it for batting practice. A few years ago I think the navy one even made it into a few games. Do they plan on using all three this year?  Will the white panel one be a batting practice one? I would like to get the white panel one, but without the spring training patch. If it's only going to be spring training, then it would be stupid for me to get it without the patch. Thank you.

New Era store/Lids shows this Orioles hat as the 2017 low profile...but Fanatics/MLB store shows the low profile as unchanged. (10 points to nerds like me that know the difference.  If I posted the 2016 hat, it'd be pretty obvious.)

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
