As a Blazers fan, I absolutely love this year’s City uniform. Now seeing the full thing officially unveiled, I think it’s an absolutely gorgeous look with some nice nods to the franchise’s original uniforms. My only nitpicks are that I wish the shorts had the striping pattern on the waistband and the vertical pinwheel logo to complete the retro-inspired feel, but other than those two things I think it’s a pretty perfect look overall. I was a big fan of the black plaid City Edition from two years ago, but this is even better IMO. In fact, I think this is pretty darn close to the original white Rip City set as well.

Also, I must say that the Blazers’ full set this year is without a doubt near the top of the league, if not at the very top:

Kudos to Portland for sticking to team colors.  Probably the only set in the league that isn't an embarrassment.

New NBA uniforms are dropping like flies but they can't compete with the attention being given to one MLB team.  Maybe it's because each team introduces a couple of new uniforms per year.  Even we are getting desensitized.

The problem is that NBA uniforms are now meaningless.  "Association," "Icon," etcetcetc.  I'm barely acclimated to the dark uniforms at home, much less this extravaganza of extra uniform nonsense.

What's happening is intentional, and as you'll see in a few years, one of these five uniforms will become strictly an advertisement.  The patch on the collar will become the primary branding for one of the jerseys, colors and all.  The Bucks will have a black and orange alt specifically dedicated to Harley Davidson, and so on.

A few years after that, there will be sponsor-dedicated home and road sets, and then in 20 years, there will be no team identity beyond sponsors at all.  The actual team logos we know now will be reduced to patches on the collar and maybe one on the shorts.

Just wondering, what are your thoughts regarding the Sixers' set?

Sixers have a solid identity too, cause they've also mainly stuck to team colors.  But I'm not a fan of the grey alternate (if it still exists... hard to keep track of what does or doesn't).  Or how often they wear blue at home.  I also don't love the thin cursive Phila/Philadelphia script, but I can live with it.  Overall, they're a few tweaks from being outstanding.

Indeed, the Sixers have one of the best brands in the NBA right now. The gray jersey was a City jersey last year, so it's gone, but it was pretty cool on TV. The cream/'parchment' City Jersey in 17-18 was fantastic. The rest of the brand that ties to Ben Franklin/1776/Unite or Die has been done really well, and the sides of the regular jerseys with the 7/6 stars are cool. They upgraded even more by getting rid of the Suxers jersey.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Luckily, those grays were last year's city unis, so they will officially be replaced tonight. I agree that the font could be different for their cursive wordmarks. I think their white association uni is the best in their set and am frustrated how little they wear in compared to the blue.

Cream City? Sounds like that's where they shoot porn

Cream City Bucks v Peachtree Hawks in a BangBros Arena Miami, imagine that.

You say that like adidas didn’t come out with sleeves and their own crappy alternates, and Reebok didn’t come out with trash bags and other Bad uniforms. Only real difference is the much quicker turn over. At the end of the day though it’s the teams that are approving these and to blame. They either have bad taste, or don’t care and both make it their fault for either telling make to make a :censored:ty uniform or not telling Nike “hey that looks like crap, make something else or we aren’t wearing it”

My concern with this is that they really might not have a choice. Could be in the agreement signed with nike.
