1. Alabama

2. Michigan

3. Georgia

4. Cincinnati

I would, honestly, force an Alabama-Georgia rematch in the semis, but it's not likely to happen. And I say that as an SEC fan. Although UGa was the best team all year up until the championship game, one could make an argument of ranking Cincy ahead of them. Alabama should be the 1 seed. Their win over Georgia was more impressive than a Michigan blowout win over Iowa.

Although I don't like Oklahoma State, or Michigan, I was kinda pulling for them to win the Big 12, along with Georgia beating Alabama, because then, we likely could've had Georgia, Michigan, Cincinnati and OK State, with Georgia being the only repeat CFP team with 3 new teams. Would've been nice to see.

"I hope Alabama kicks the :censored: out of Cincinnati"

I saw some of this last night. If this is you, I promise you don't have to be this way. You don't have to stump for a rigged system that isn't even good. You don't have to be Todd McShay and crow about "But the 4 best teams!". GTFOOH. They're a division 1 team who won every game they were asked to win, including a thorough dismantling of the #5 team and it was in their building too. Like Boise State of the last decade, 2017 UCF, the Mountain West Utah undefeated teams, and any other teams of years past of that station that didn't get their chance, they should absolutely get their chance to prove themselves on the field otherwise why are we even playing these games? If all you want is the four "best" teams then let's skip the exercise of playing the games, spare everyone the CTE, and give the trophy to whoever scored the best recruiting class. College football's problem from a competitive standpoint is too much top talent is on too few teams because the system drives it that way. If more teams have a realistic shot at the championship then more players will consider other programs besides one of 5 schools, 4 of which are in the southeast, and this era of rare upsets and boring blowouts will become something a lot more fun. This is great for the sport and you're a straight up doofus if you think otherwise.

But beyond that in my mind it's almost immaterial what happens to UC in the playoff now. They've already achieved something unbelievable and it's one of the best sports stories in a very long time. They were undeniable in a system rigged against them, moving the goalposts at every opportunity. So they might get beat big on the big stage in a semi-final game. Who cares? Fear of failure is a sad way to live your life and I don't subscribe to that. Those precious semi-final games - there's been like 3 good ones between the blue bloods in the 7 years we've been doing this, anyways. You're gonna be a grouch about the best sports story because of some nonsense about them not earning it or whatever? :censored: you.

So we’re getting another Alabama national title game. Great. Lots of reasons to watch that again, I’m sure. I can’t think of any, but I’m sure they’re there.

That's like saying "I sure hope Walmart runs that cool little local shop out of business." The only people who should be rooting for Alabama in this game are Alabama fans and degenerate gamblers hoping the Tide covers the spread. I want the Bearcats to put a serious ass-whipping on Alabama. They won't, but I still want them to.

It’s amazing that we have a full ass human committee picking this crap now and they STILL couldn’t help but give us yet another setup for an all SEC title game. There are so many logical ways they could’ve made Bama and Georgia face off in the semi finals (if for nothing else, just to spare all of us), but no. Couldn’t bring themselves to actually make this enjoyable. Like, what’s even the point any longer? Why are we even still doing this?

This is exactly right. Honestly, what do those people think it would prove for Cincinnati to get blown out? That the G5 doesn't belong? Literally every single P5 conference (and a certain independent) has had a team or two get run off the field in the playoff. By this logic, the playoff should only have G5's.

They put Georgia in? Ugh....

Honestly, who would they have put in instead? Notre Dame? UGA and ND both have one loss, both of which are to playoff teams, but that also means Georgia has 12 wins, three of which are against ranked schools, compared to Notre Dame's 11 wins against zero ranked opponents. Based on this season, these are the four most deserving teams as annoying as it is that Alabama is in yet again.

I don't know really... Baylor? Utah? Utah State? UT-San Antonio? Northern Illinois? Take your pick.

I am not even arguing that Georgia is one of four best teams. I just think Georgia had their chance in the SEC championship game. They lost and as a result, they should get lost.

I saw, I came, I left.

I hate the SEC, but this is a bad take. Georgia IS one of the 4 best teams in the country no question.

Agreed. Losing your Conference Championship Game by 17 should be a disqualifier.

Meanwhile in Miami, though...

Seeing the way Miami is treating Diaz should make Cristobal's choice easy.

Like I said, I am NOT arguing Georgia is not one of four best teams. I'm saying they had their chance.
