Baseball uniforms you miss

AL East

Baltimore: The cartoon Orioles cap with the black crown and orange bill.

Boston: The former road uniforms with the red lettering.

New York: The classic road uniforms without the white outlines.

Tampa Bay: None. I like these uniforms best.

Toronto: The look the Jays had when they were world champs.

AL Central

Chicago: Switch the black to navy and bring back red outlines.

Cleveland: Pretty good the way they are.

Detroit: I'd go back to the block Detroit for road uniforms.

Kansas City: Make the light blues, jerseys AND pants, permanent road uniforms. And use the white script Royals on those roads. That was by far the best look.

Minnesota: Great look the way it is.

AL West

Los Angeles: Bring back the halo caps.

Oakland: I want to see the all-yellow sleveless look brought back.

Seattle: These are their best uniforms.

Texas: I liked the original Rangers uniforms, but these are good.

NL East

Atlanta: Great look the way it is.

Florida: Is there anything worth bringing back?

New York: Get rid of the black. Go to the Amazin' Mets look.

Philadelphia: Bring back the Mike Schmidt-Steve Carlton look.

Washington: I like the current uniforms best.

NL Central

Chicago: I admit, I liked the road unis with the script Cubs written across, even though it looked like it said Cuba. But I thought they looked sharp.

Cincinnati: Go back to the start of the Big Red Machine, before they went to the pullover jerseys. That was the Reds' best look.

Houston: Sheesh, any of their previous unis are better than this.

Pittsburgh: The 1979 look, anyone? Just kidding. These are just fine.

Milwaukee: I'm not a Ball in Glove fan. I liked the original look, with the block M.

St. Louis: Perfect, both home and away. Although I did like the light blues for road uniforms.

NL West

Arizona: I'm not a fan of the new look. Bring back the world champs uniforms.

Colorado: I haven't been a fan of any of their unis, so what's there to bring back?

Los Angeles: Great uniforms the way they are.

San Diego: No question -- bring back the brown and mustard with the uniforms they wore in that World Series a long time ago.

San Francisco: I really liked the script Giants unis. They would be good alts.

Very Well...

AL East

Baltimore: The first full-bird logo from the early 1990s...less detail/realistic.

Boston: Previous road unis (red on blue)

Toronto: World Series era + blue alt (which came later, I think)

AL Central

-

AL West

Seattle: Trident/star cap logo

Texas: Anything with the block "T" cap

NL East

New York: Pre-black

Philadelphia: Burgundy from 1980s

NL Central

Cincinnati: Pre-black

Milwaukee: Mid-1990s "M" cap after the Motre Bame cap

NL West

San Diego: Late 1980s Brown and orange (no yellow)

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

What is the unhealthy obsession with the Padres ugliest uniform they've ever worn on this site? Is it the uniqueness factor that overrides horribly bad taste?

THANK YOU. I have nothing against the Padres at all, but those brown and mustard uniforms were hideous. Uniqueness is good, but that can't be the only thing that makes a uniform good.

I'm not going to comment on all the teams, but I'll comment on mine. I think the current Orioles' uniforms are the best they've had in at least the past 20 years. I love the orange-billed caps, the all-orange wordmarks and numbers, and the Baltimore script on the roads. I'm indifferent about the realistic bird... I think it looks just as good as the "undetailed" bird. I really wouldn't change a thing.

I still maintain these were two of MLB's most progressive identities to date:

Remember the Motre Bameness.

They NEVER should have jettisoned that look. Still my favorite MLB identity overall.

Cleveland: Bring back last year's road jersey and for alternate the navy blue jersey with "Cleveland" on the front with red piping. Though I think a red version of this would be even better since there are so many dark alternate uniforms in the AL

I agree completely with every one of the above with the exception of the Marlins. The original set was head and shoulders above the black and gray crap they have now.

Here's a look at the complete inaugural season set:

A lighter blue would have done wonders for that Tampa Bay set, but as is it's still much better then the generic stuff they wear now.

Agreed. I think dark green and light blue is a fantastic color scheme and with the exception of Tulane's football team is really not found anywhere in sports. They're current color scheme is borrowed, and I can't see the Rays still using the same color scheme 20 years from now.

Gosh...I just remembered how much I missed that "Florida" chest script. Good memories of having that jersey...and flaunting that thang proudly back during the '03 World Series, made more special since I had just moved up north from down south that same month.

Memories...

As a Jays fan, the 92-93 set would be my preference.

The Angels looked good last night losing in those retros they had on. Nice to see those jerseys again.

As a weird one and realize it can't happen...I wish the Rays would've changed their name and adopted the St. Petersburg Pelicans look. I loved that turn back the clock day a few years back.

I am probably in the minority but I loved this set..

I agree, I thought those were nice too. The Astros were at a point where that 70's look had to go (it was 1994 for God's sake), and these were a great (although short-lived) transition set to their current look.
