2014 MLB Changes (logo, uniform wise, etc)

However, this look here is absolute garbage:

Especially the hat

That hat was a work of art compared to the primary logo:

Just awful.

Yeah. Either way, but especially when they shared a division with a team that used "A's" as a logo.

Yes, I was thinking specifically about the young Griffey set when I said how crappy they looked. Still, there was nothing special (to me) about the early Mariners set. The logo is creative, except that it represents the team name and not the city. And the colors were a bad choice at the time considering there was already a blue and yellow team in the AL.

Yeah, that gives me pause. But I liked it enough to let that go.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."

The Mariners current set is fine only they need to make the teal bill cap their permenant home cap. Also wouldn't hurt for the M's to use the teal crown/nave bill for Sunday games.

The Brewers and Padres definitely need a new look as those sets are both bland and boring.

The Cubs new road uniform needs to look like the 1990-1993 set (Rookie of the Year).

As for the NFL, yes the old uniforms, stadiums, astro turf is 1,000 times better than the crap you see today. On top of that, there is a belife that the NFL higher ups really hate the throwback uniforms unlike the MLB where its now commonplace for teams to wear the old uniforms on occasion.

I assume you're being facetious?

i love shortening players careers too with astroturf being hard as concrete and having seams that you could fit a foot into. the turf today looks loads better, looking like real grass where you can't tell the difference because the start playing there isn't a dirt patch in the middle of the field from wear, and you see rubber pieces flip up when a receiver drags their feet on the sideline

The cookie cutter stadiums built in the late 60's/early 70's were horrible. They tore down all these beautiful old stadiums to put up these monstrosities. Then, in the 90's/2000's, they tore down all the cookie cutters and built stadiums to look like the ones they originally tore down in the 60's & 70's! Doh!

In other parts of the world they keep structures forever. Here, we tear things down after 30 years.

I know what you're saying about the saucer stadiums but I always thought that Riverfront made a nice addition to the Cincinnati skyline. I may be prejudiced, but I thought it had the best exterior appearance of all the cookie cutters.

Because TAXPAYER SUBSIDIES!

In that instance, here's guessing that within the next 20-30 years, we'll see a "retro, cookie-cutter" stadium craze in sports construction (funded, of course, on the backs of thousandaires, while millionaires and billionaires reap the profits and call the rest of us, "stupid").

In 2015 and it'll be the Padres 23Rd logo LOL

Really or just a rumors

Rumors, or actually he's probably just joking. Still, that would be the Padre-iest thing ever. Continuing to stay away from the colors fans identify with, introducing another color scheme into the team's lineage, aping an already insanely oversaturated color scheme, and doing it all to honor an old minor-league team that nobody under 60 remembers or cared about.
