As long as the pinstripes are off-white/vintage white/cream/ivory/whatever, I don't think Mr. Met's bright white noggin fits in. Obviously it's not the same as a patch, but I don't like the contrast when the real Mr. Met (yes, he is real) wears the off-white jersey. Mrs. Met's jersey looks clean, her husband's looks like he hasn't washed it in months.

Isn't that the way it is with all married couples anyway? :P

I personally think the cream looks fine and that Mrs. Met should wear either the same jersey as Mr. Met or maybe the blue alt. I've never liked the white alt, it's extraneous and overall unnecessary now that the beautiful blue alts are in play. Not to mention that it's a reminder of this aesthetic nightmare:

That combo never bothered me nearly as much as that cap with the pinstripes. I also thought that cap looked much better with the black alt back before they introduced the second black alt and the all black cap. The blue on the bill at least picked up the blue "Mets" on the black jerseys. All that said I like things much better as they are now!

They really need to drop the 's from the cap and just go old-style with just the A.

Also there's no need for a road cap - the home cap works just fine on both uniforms.

I'll say it again - they need to drop the 's, and adopt home uniforms with just the A on the chest. Basically go to a Philadelphia A's type set but with the current colors.

If they end up moving out of the bay area, I would hope that they go back to their original colors (though I understand that would unfortunately leave MLB without a green team, but so be it.)

Why would of all places Ebay have the scoop on that A's cap.

A lot of on-field 5950s are sold on ebay. Probably just a seller posting new inventory by mistake.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

Am I the only one who thinks the A's don't need a road cap at all? Their home cap is good enough to wear full-time.

Obviously not...

I agree, Vet. For the road grays, I always thought the white logo on the hat was a good compliment to the white shoes.

I agree with all three of you. The home caps are near perfect. They don't need any other game cap. Though I did like their bp cap with the sunglasses wearing elephant...

Home cap may be great, but the road cap is a thing of beauty. I like it better against the gray uniform than the yellow bill of the home caps. And if this is truly the new road cap, why decrease the amount of yellow on it? Doesn't make sense and hopefully that's a sign it's not the new one at all.

That cap is just so stupid on so many levels. The reason the A's road cap works over the home cap is because the cap is all green with the gold A. The home cap would look ok on the road, but the white A with the grey jerseys always looks just a bit off. Even as an alt cap it doesn't work because it's a reverse of the Alt jersey. That's going to look downright AWFUL.

Uggh, this looks so pathetically bush league. What the F*** are you thinking, A's?
