oldschoolvikings
Always nice to see, but inaccurate, I believe. This is combining two versions... this one seems to be trying to be the later version, which had the solid navy collar and no thigh number, but should have had a white outline around the star. The red outline goes with an earlier version.Earlier...Later...Nitpick much? Yes. http://dstewartpaint.blogspot.com/
bosrs1
I wouldn't be at all shocked if the Padres changed the colors on their logos but decided to keep the current uniform set. It sounds completely ridiculous, and would somehow make their identity an even bigger mess, but that's kind of what the Padres do.OR, even more Padres like, they decide to adopt powder blue and gold for a great looking set and to tie in with the Chargers... Just as the Chargers are packing up to leave to Los Angeles.Powder blue thankfully does not appear to be part of the Padres new color palette if their website it to be believed. So it's just Navy and Yellow. While it is a fashion cap, I like it if they are going the blue and gold route.Nah if they're going Navy and Yellow something like these would be better IMO.This is beautiful.Definitely won't be mistaken for any other team that's for sure. SFGiants58
I've never really been able to get behind brown/yellow for the Padres. I get why people would like it, being that it is a unique color scheme in the league and its association with a time in which the Padres used more unique uniform templates, but I've never really liked how the two colors played off of one another. They neither stand out from each other, nor do they blend in just the right way (something that brown/orange does, at least in the way the Padres used it). I don't think brown is the problem. Far from it, I think a brown-based color scheme would be fantastic, provided they find the right bright/well-saturated color to go along with it (like light blue), and that the brown is dark/well-saturated enough to really "pop." Brown/yellow will never be appealing to me in the same way that navy/yellow or brown/light blue would be appealing. Brown is not the problem at all, but rather finding the right color to work with it. Maybe my mind will change if I see brown/yellow executed in the right way (with well saturated/properly contrasting shades of the two colors), but no previous Padres uniform pulls it off. WavePunter
I'm a fan of the Brown/Yellow, but with the Orange trim (and I certainly understand if that tiny bit of Orange doesn't satisfy whatever you don't like about the scheme), but I've often thought about something like Tennessee's Orange as the happy medium.. If the proper shades of Brown/Tennessee Orange are selected, it could really be sharp and unique, while achieving both the Brown/Yellow look and Brown/Orange look... .... Or just be ugly as sin. FinsUp1214
I might get boiled alive for this, but...40 years later? The tequila sunrise is still a gaudy, eye-searing uniform. There's never any decade that will look good in.The Rangers look okay, though. Those uniforms weren't great by any means, but they weren't horrible, either. Just okay. FiddySicks
Yeah those things are terrible. They're so ridiculously overkill. But I absolutely HATE what they have now. They're easily the most boring set the Astros have ever had, despite things like the bright orange cap. I think they could find a way to use the rainbow stripes in moderation enough to embrace them without looking completely gaudy. It's a different sport entirely, but the University of Hawaii wore a throwback inspired set in football and I think they pretty much nailed it in terms of balance. I think the Astros could find a way to do something similar. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) These were so iconic for their time, rainbows are what I associate the Astros franchise with, just as pinstripes for the Yanks. I'm glad the franchise dabbled going back to their colorful roots with the BP jersey & cap. I hope they continue to embrace the rainbows. What I hope to see one day - since they're now in the AL, I want to see a 70's throwback game between the "Tequila Sunrise Stros" versus the "Disco Inferno White Sox" - complete with shorts. I'd fly to Houston or Chicago to see that wonderful game in person. Please MLB - Make. It. Happen.
Dynasty
I don't mind the blandness of the Astros uniforms that much. The one thing I dislike is their clipart cap logo.
AnPheitseog
Not a fan of white on gold honestly, see the A's road cap for example. Also similarly, silver on orange, like the current Mets alt road cap Formerly known as DiePerske
SilverBullet1929
Two thoughts... If the Padres go navy and yellow, do they stay with the light navy or do they go midnight? And as for the Brewers, despite all the issues their uniforms have, I've always found it super cool that they literally have the color of beer on their uniforms. Probably because royal and athletic gold is admittedly superior but some of you are way too hard on the metallic beer gold .

ShlyKBMT
The H-Star logo is huge in Houston. Fans like me missed it when it went away. The shooting star on navy was nice. The western crap McLane changed the Astros to was terrible.

Old School Fool
I noticed how good the Brewers metallic gold was when I bought the hat and jersey a few years ago. It might not seem like it's good on TV or in pictures, but it looks really good up close. I like the gold jersey mostly due to it's unique look, but yeah, the gold is way better on the jerseys and hat.
