I don't care, I don't like naming sports teams after states, and especially not big empty rectangles.

I think there are a few cases where it actually works better that way, though. Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Florida Panthers, etc. Because those are the actual full name of what each team is named after. Now, they could've avoided that by naming these teams something like the Denver Bears, Phoenix Snakes, and Miami Sunrise IceCats or something, but I actually kind of like all three of those state centric names.

They're better than shammy minor league names like the Rocky Mountain Extreme or Arizona Coyotes, anyway.

Obviously, fans and Milwaukeeans have spoken, and the team's choice in branding going forward reflects that. That said, as an outsider, I'm kinda where @Bucfan56 is regarding the BiG logo (or at least the original version of it)...its great for what it is, but I much prefer an identity that uniquely speaks to either the team locale or nickname, and the current-soon-to-be-former identity definitely accomplished that.  However, I also agree that in many instances, "less is best", so in that vein, I can see why they're going away from the current script stuff. Actually, now that I think about it, IF they could've built a simpler identity package based around an M and some barely, that alone might've sufficed without the need for the current scripts (or Times New Roman...yikes!). That would've also afforded them the versatility to throw back to the Milwaukee Braves days, as @Bucfan56 also alluded to. (That was a great point, by the way.)

As a supporting font for like cap logo/number font, I personally would like to see them resurrect something along the lines of the Motre Bame era fonts--only without the extra outlines. But I doubt that happens, so...anyways, we'll see what happens with this.

(And is it just me or does it appear to anyone else that leaked logo has two rings of royal blue in it? I don't know that I'd like to see them try to shove a third color into their navy and [now] athletic gold. But again, we'll see what happens with this.

THIS!!! I completely agree that the current brand speaks to the "beer culture" of Milwaukee and Wisconsin. The wheat under the M logo definitely accomplishes that. The BiG logo is great BUT it does not describe anything "Brewer" related. It could mean Milwaukee Bears, Milwaukee Braves, Milwaukee Bucks, basically anything with a nickname starts with a "B". That's something I don't like about logos in general. I think with a little bit of minimizing to their current brand or adding a barley leaf or hop to the BiG logo, it would have been way better.

Also, as a Brewers (and Wisconsin sports) fan, what I have noticed on social media is that older generation of fans love that the logo is coming back because that is what they grew up with. But for younger generational fans (such as myself), they are calling it outdated, saying "it looks too 80's", and it has nothing to do with the "Brewers" nickname. What I think will happen is the BiG logo will come back for about 10-15 years and then when my generation gets older, we'll want the wheat logos back because 1: we grew up with that and 2: the team has had the most success when wearing the wheat branding (the Brewers had 2 playoff appearances and 1 MVP while wearing the BiG brand and have had 4 playoff appearances and 2 MVPs under the wheat brand).

I love the BiG logo, but it should only be used as a throwback or an alternate logo. A new modern design that actually represent beer and brewers should have been used instead.

Eh... depends.  There's a "permanent" (meaning, one's been up for 10 years so far) huge murals near me on the sides of large/old buildings.  One celebrating the Phillies NL/WS championships, with key players from each era all around them.  I can't recall the exact error unless I go look at it again, but there's something... that probably only I notice.\

EDIT: Re Phillies, there's at least one player with a front number under his script, which was never a thing:

Where in philly is this?

Arizona Coyotes is shammy minor league like the Rocky Mountain Extreme? Not sure I follow that example.

That was partially in jest, as the shammyness of the Coyotes organization as a whole leaves it as a "rose by any other name" type of situation.

Not sure social media is a good gauge here... whenever I go to a game the BiG seems to be at least as popular with 20 somethings as it is with the over 30s. Maybe even more. Besides, let the Brewers win a World Series in the new uniforms and no one will clamor for the Barley M.

Arlington Rangers doesnt sound that bad though.

Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies, Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils etc. are good names because they are named after actual things. Yes, I realize that the Jersey Devil is fictitious (or is it?), but its legend existed before the hockey team.

Since when has Colorado been empty? Wyoming, sure but not Colorado.

No kidding. They got mountains and weed.

Having traversed both states, end to end, bottom all the way to the top, both ways...multiple times...yeah, Wyo is emptier than a mug (and windy as all get-out). But east of the front (read: 1-25), Colorado really ain't that far behind, either. Oh--and Colorado isn't exactly a rectangle, either...but neither is Wyoming. 😉

(That said...if anyone really wants to see "empty", take a trip through either South Dakota or Nebraska sometime--or I-90 across the bottom of Minnesota. That's blank.)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

I’ve driven through both, atleast with SD you’ll randomly see a dinosaur out of nowhere. Nebraska has nothing but smells like manure the whole time.

Social media is never a good gauge of anything.

I would be very surprised if there was a great fondness for the motion-sickness M.  Even the success they’ve had in recent years is at least partially associated with the BiG retro throwbacks.  So it’s unfair to credit the current uniforms as representing the most successful era.

Agreed. And let's not pretend that it's even been mostly successful either. 11 out of the 19 seasons since 2000 have been losing seasons and some were really bad.

Yeah, I really don't think the C on their caps stands for "Cubs".

The C is the cherry circle. It was the logo of the Chicago Athletic Association before the Cubs borrowed it. It definitely means ‘Chicago’.

Also, who was the main "star" during that period?

I'm sure fans won't be shedding too many tears when Braun goes away.

Also, those gold jerseys looked terrible. Let's hope the only gold jerseys they'll bring back are PMS 1235 C and PMS 1235 C alone.

Okay you’re going to hate me, and I hate myself for saying this. But I don’t hate those uniforms that much. When someone says gold baseball uniform, I think it would be awful. I’m pleasantly surprised by these. They’re okay. Im not sad their gone but I wasn’t mad when they had them either. I’m going to miss this set a lot tbh
