Yeah, except that the Seahawks mono blue is an awesome look while the Cowboys mismatched blues and silvers isn't.

Yeah, except that you're wrong and the Seahawks monochrome blue looks awful. :D

Different strokes, I guess. I'll never get why people wanna see those awful white pants at all. Those things should be burned.

Why haven't we seen the pro bowl uniforms yet?

I've heard a rumor that players will just wear their teams uniforms (ala NBA of old). One team wearing white, the other wearing colored uniforms. Anyone else hear this?

God, that would be so great. I can't see Nike passing up on the money grab of an extra jersey set, though.

The Seahawks have been wearing monochrome at home since 2002 and I am surprised that people still talk about it. 12 years is a tradition at this point and I really don't see them wearing anything different at home outside of a preseason game. So even though the gray pants may look better in someones opinion, I would not expect any changes to occur for several years.

My uncle got kicked in the side by a mule when he was a teenager, and it still bothered him 40 years later.

I see that as a pretty valid analogy to the Seahawks wearing all-blue and how I feel every time I'm forced to look at it.

I wouldn't say awesome as they are a downgrade from their previous set. But you are right that the Cowboys mismatched blues are not pleasing to the eye.

12 years and people still think the all blue is a crazy scheme.

Everyone can have their own opinions. Seahawks blue/blue set, I feel, is much better than blue/grey or blue/white. My perfect world would have them only wear blue/blue at home and white/white on the road.

Aside from the font and size of the numbers I think the nike design is superior but the navy helmet is so drab when you look at the two side by side. The hawks should have worked harder to keep that helmet color and find a textile match as the gray in the new set is just pointless.

The Seahawks old vs. new unis is a weird one for me. There's nothing egregious about any individual aspect of the old set (and I don't just mean 'jersey', I'm talking smaller scale than that) but I really didn't like the whole, the individual aspects of the new/current are largely bad yet I don't hate the overall set, not really sure why.

For me it's the blues. The old blue was drab, depressing, lifeless. The new one is bold with personality. Combined with a bit more of the bright green, and the overall look of the new set seems almost like the old set "turned on".

I love navy as a color but I've never once thought of associating the color with words like "bold" or "personality". I would tend to use words more like austere and serious. The reason why the uniform looks more alive/less bland is the mix of color and the fact that there's way more green.

This, to me, is something approaching a decent uniform on the NFL level...

It's still got some issues, the main one being the total lack of green on the pants, but that would be easily solved by filling in the little wingish design in green.

The white pants are useless, especially in tandem with the blue jersey, which has no white anywhere.

"Bold" and "personality" in comparison with the previous grey blue. There is an energy with the new blue that's not there with the old. Like someone boosted the hue and saturation levels in Photoshop.

As a personal rule I generally don't like monochrome football uniforms as much as the regular established way of wearing it, but because of the way the Seahawks uniform is laid out I think that's their best possible combination. It's the most balanced from helmet to socks.

helmet-jersey-pants

blue-white-white: has almost no green except for the drop in the bird's eye and the number outline. From a distance they look like a navy and white team

blue-white-gray: same problem as blue white white except looks a little better because the gray pants allow the gray in the bird logo to make sense

blue-white-blue: balanced except for the green on the pants sticks out with so little green throughout the rest of the uniform. I don't know why the triangle on the sleeves of the white and gray jerseys isn't green like it is on the blue jerseys.

blue-blue-gray: no green in the pants

blue-blue-white: Have they ever worn this? Even still, no green in the pants

blue-gray-gray: same problem as blue-white-white, not enough green in the uniform

blue-gray-blue: same problem as blue-white-blue, not enough green in the uniform

So the best combination in a uniform set with a pointless alternate and bad coloring choices is the monochrome.

^ The conclusion I draw from all that is that I wish the Seahawks had made a more conscious effort to make that electric green more of a bona fide team color rather than the miniscule trim its relegated to in favor of the obsidia--I mean navy blue and "wolf gray" (ugh).

I'm usually pretty old school with uniform tastes but I think the new Seahawks look pretty good...except in mono blue.

so basically you like the Seahawks look except for when they look like they intend to look. Makes total sense.

I always thought their best effort would have been to keep these, change the helmet logo to the new, fiercer Seahawk, and add green trim around the numbers. One of my favorite color combinations in all of sports went away when these were trashed...

You just reminded me of my favorite part of the NIKE uniforms, they made the Seahawks connect at the back of the helmet
