They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy. sc49erfan15
I've posted this one more than once before, but it's quite possibly my most favorite sports photo of all time:The wristband aligning perfectly with the square on the backboard. The damn-near-medieval contraption acting as a backboard support. The big-ass camera. The audience, at the very end of the era when people still wore suits and ties to sporting events.Upward-arched name on the front of the jersey. Gilmore's quads. High, three-striped socks. Basketball shorts with belts.About the only thing that could be improved on is that Artis only has about 3 inches of 'fro going on. Could be later in his career with much, much more. MCM0313
^ wait, so that's NOT Dwight Schrute? It's the English national soccer team's all time highest goal scorer and multi-millionaire Wayne Rooney enjoying a huge lollipop on vacation with his now fashion designer wife Coleen. That's Wayne Rooney? Wow, awhile back, isn't it? Like, before the hair transplant. (I have nothing against hair transplants btw.) I figured that sucker was digitally enlarged to make the photo funnier but I guess not. I want a huge sucker...and a fashion designer wife...and millions of pounds (I live in the U.S. but I'm sure I could get them converted to dollars somewhere).Actually I'm not sure what is cooler Bannerman eyes or mask, but overall is a cool photo.Stickum, stickum and even more stickum:Did Lester Hayes ever NOT look cool? I bet he still looks cool in his 60s.
FinsUp1214
I know "the flip" gets a lot of (much-deserved) praise, but I love the shot taken right before it even better:If you're asking me, it's one of my favorite sports shots ever. Bautista looks beyond cool.

He made his England debut in 2003 so it's not like this is before he became rich and famous."Fashion designer" may be pushing it for his wife but I just wanted to demonstrate how far they have both come since this picture but at the same time how "common" they both look considering their status.
