Interestingly enough there's no gray phillies cool base jersey listed. Just the Pinstriped and cream alt.

Wonder if their changing it? I just got one this weekend on black friday, so I'm sorta hoping not, but I could see them changing the striping to be thinner.

When Russell was the manufacturer, the sleeve striping was how it is on the Majestic jerseys that have the neck trim now (i.e. a thinner band sewn over the end of the sleeve rather than a wide elastic "cuff").

If they went thinner, that's how they'd do it - but I'm not sure if Majestic is templated and then they'd have to have neck trim as well in order to use that cut. That wouldn't make sense, but neither does 99% of sports uniform design in 2014.

I kinda liked that one, but it's tarnished forever since Bonds had so many great moments in it.

"so what - are the Cardinals jerseys tarnished too? The Cubs?" - the difference is that those uniforms were for the most part worn for so long that tons of other great players had moments in them too (you could argue the Cubs' blue though.) This one, at least to me, is synonymous with Bonds.

There are a lot of teams on there that don't have any gray cool base jerseys for sale right now. I wouldn't read anything into it.

The Giants should stop the "we use black outlined in orange with a gold shadow, no matter what background it's on" nonsense. It looks bad, and it doesn't make their brand stronger. That jersey would look much better if it had orange letters/numbers with a cream outline.

That being said, I'm glad the Giants are bringing these back. They are black then orange. Now destroy both the orange jerseys and the orange-billed cap and leave such things to the Orioles.

Agreed. I too have always associated the Giants with black more than orange, if only because I started following baseball around 2001. Yes, I too associate that alt with Bonds, but it still fits their identity better than the orange alts. Heck, they wore the road version of this black alt at the first MLB game I ever attended.

And maybe this belongs in "unpopular opinions," but count me as one of those who actually likes the "SF" road alt. Just get rid of the now-ruined "San Francisco" road jersey, and the Giants are good to go.

Ehh, that jersey is ok. There's certainly a better chance I buy that then the orange alt. I do wish it fit the theme of the orange alt better, though. I would've way rather seen something more similar to this

But if they insist on bringing back the early 2000s black alt, they better bring this cap back, too.

I see some sort of white stitching on the left side of the cap, I'm guessing it's the New Era logo, which obviously isn't on on-field caps. So my guess is that it's just a fashion cap..
It's a fashion cap sold only at Target Field. $40, by the way...
