How does burgundy helmet/white jersey/gold pants look?

It looked terrible. There's just not enough yellow on the rest of the uniform to justify and make it a cohesive look. The only thing the Commanders should do is white pants or burgundy pants. The burgundy pants on the away jersey make it less awful, maybe throw on black socks for the contrast, but they're most likely going to just wear burgundy pants and socks.

Unfortunately for us uniform nerds Madden 23 doesn't have the alternate helmets in the game at launch, so we won't be able to try mixing and matching right now. They'll probably be added in an update.

I did however get to pair the Commanders black helmet with the road uniform and it's ATROCIOUS. The Commanders have yellow pants too but no yellow socks.

Helmets are planned for an update. Madden can't add anything without team approval even if announced. It was too late in game development to have them in for launch. To be as accurate as possible Madden has started scanning assets so it is more than team approval EA has to wait and get the physical assets from each team to scan as well.

This would seem like a logical answer to the mystery. The jersey font appears to match, at least for the 2.

Their practice jerseys do not currently have the NFL logo on the collar, let alone the NFL Equipment logo that did used to be there.

Reread my last post. You can see the slightest remnants of the regular jersey beneath the folds. Im not even so sure they didn’t take a retail jersey straight from the pro shop, its so baggy.

It is way, way, way more likely that that Cardinals pic is simply their current jersey (with either convenient folding that hides some of the piping or overzealous photoshopping that removed some of the piping) than a deliberate clue that new uniforms are coming for only the mega nerds on this forum to notice.

I mean come on, guys...

I still don’t understand why they felt the need to have a random person dress up in full uniform when it’s clearly not the normal player who wears 24. Was Darrel Williams just simply not available for the photo shoot? I suppose I’m just reading into it too much.

As I mentioned in a previous post upthread, I believe the 24 is a quiet signal for 2024, as in a potential brand refresh or maybe total overhaul. (I also believe that's a current jersey with the piping details edited out.)

*Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. 😁

Kinda amazing the current Cardinals look has lasted as long as it has.

It debuted in 2005 and predates their current stadium.

I almost instinctually posted that you were wrong and that the stadium and those unis debuted simultaneously, but then I looked it up and…

My mind is completely blown. I had absolutely no idea that this current uni set was old enough to have seen SDS. That’s insane. When you put it that way, I think they basically have to change their look and soon. That’s FAR too long for any team to look that meh to bad.

Vikings white vs. Saints black is another one of these color matchups that can't ever seem to happen anymore. The last 9 matchups have featured the Vikings in purple and the Saints in white. You have to go all the way back to this day for the last time the Saints wore black against Minnesota:

Other matchups like this that never happen anymore that come to mind include:

Dolphins white vs. Bengals black (2012)

Chiefs white vs. Bengals black (2009)

Bengals white vs. Jets green (2010)

Texans white vs. Chargers in any shade of blue (2007)

Thats insane. I don't know why the saints don't wear this matchup anymore, I always thought it was such a classic, clean look.
