chcarlson23 Posted November 25, 2021 Share Posted November 25, 2021 I hate the Devils Jersey jersey, but there are barely some good parts about it… I don’t mind a wordmark on the front of the sweater, that’s pretty neat. But this feels like a generic font, and doesn’t really scream Devils at all. It feels like it could say anything in that font, and it wouldn’t be terrible. Which makes it terrible for a jersey that’s supposed to honor the location of New Jersey… The black sweater? Great. It’s cool to have a different color sweater. This black sweater?? It’s the Winter Classic jersey that Chicago wore back in 2019… Minus hem stripes, which is one of the worst design trends in hockey. Stripes make a hockey sweater, don’t remove them. And the only part of this sweater that I truly do like is the red drop shadow on the numbers. It’s different and cool, and doesn’t quite look like the Rangers, so I think it works. Otherwise? You could add the script to that for all I care if you really wanted to. B-mer Posted November 30, 2021 Share Posted November 30, 2021 Agree with going back to the classic design for the Devils, including the unique shape to the shoulder yoke. Devils had some tiny details that really made the old design cool - like the yoke and the black finger tips of the gloves. As for an alternate I’ve always thought variations of something like this would be the way to go for a black alternate. Something different but still traditional. It's not terrible, but definitely could use some tweaks.
