Toronto Raptors rebrand

All those proposed logos are a lot worse than the one they went with, except the slashed "T" which would've made a good secondary. You could make a case for the raptor coming out of the leaf, but it just doesn't feel on par with the times, and would fit better with the original identity. So, unless there were more proposed logos, they made the right choice in choosing the least bad one. That doesn't change the fact, though, that they should've gone with the current claw secondary mark as primary instead. This new ball mark would've made a good secondary to it.

Just how the Lakers should have a stupid lake on their logo. amirite?

Precisely.

Raptors has never been a suitable nickname for the team, and while I wish MLSE had taken this opportunity to move forward with a Huskies rebrand, might as well distance the franchise from the cartoony 1990s identity they've been stuck with since Jurassic Park.

They're not the Los Angeles Lakes, they're the Lakers... a bit more of an abstract concept. "Raptors" is very cut-and-dry. I'd say it's pretty rare for an animal-named team to not have the animal in any of their logos.

The Huskies existed for the sole reason of filling in dates at Maple Leaf Gardens. They lasted one year, and finished dead last in both their division and in league attendance, losing $100K in the process. Why people romanticize their legacy and call for the Raps to pay homage to them is beyond me.

You know what's awesome about dinosaurs? Everything. You know what's awesome about Jurassic Park? Everything else. The "Raptors" name is fine.

Exactly.

The only reason people see the Huskies in a good light is because they played against the Knicks in the first NBA game ever in 1946.

For that reason alone I don't mind if the Raptors wear an old school Huskies jersey once in a while but I like the Raptors better than the Huskies and they should stick with the Raptors.

I'm sorry, is that 'N' backwards?

It's Cyrillic. It's an I.
