hawk36
Saw this on the main page under the "architect" Chris Creamer's post about real world incorporation. Surprised no one posted it yet.Someone did just added a small alteration and VOILA 100% better! (Still looks like Memphis 2nd logo hooked up with BKN's main logo)Winner. Done. Gothamite
I think those shadows make the claws too subtle - can barely make them out oh my phone. But still, huge improvement. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
truepg
All those proposed logos are a lot worse than the one they went with, except the slashed "T" which would've made a good secondary. You could make a case for the raptor coming out of the leaf, but it just doesn't feel on par with the times, and would fit better with the original identity. So, unless there were more proposed logos, they made the right choice in choosing the least bad one. That doesn't change the fact, though, that they should've gone with the current claw secondary mark as primary instead. This new ball mark would've made a good secondary to it. Morgan33
For those interested, some of what MLSE turned down in favour of the brooklyn-esque ball:The Raptor emerging from the Maple Leaf is spectacular! How they passed that up for the bland roundel, I'll never know...
The Six
How about if your team is named after a dinosaur, you have the stupid dinosaur in your logo. Just own it already.

habsfan1
That looks great! The purple works this time, but a detailed logo like that needs something other than a block font.
trueblues
Just how the Lakers should have a stupid lake on their logo. amirite?Precisely.Raptors has never been a suitable nickname for the team, and while I wish MLSE had taken this opportunity to move forward with a Huskies rebrand, might as well distance the franchise from the cartoony 1990s identity they've been stuck with since Jurassic Park. Cosmic
Just how the Lakers should have a stupid lake on their logo. amirite? They're not the Los Angeles Lakes, they're the Lakers... a bit more of an abstract concept. "Raptors" is very cut-and-dry. I'd say it's pretty rare for an animal-named team to not have the animal in any of their logos.
BigBubba
The Huskies existed for the sole reason of filling in dates at Maple Leaf Gardens. They lasted one year, and finished dead last in both their division and in league attendance, losing $100K in the process. Why people romanticize their legacy and call for the Raps to pay homage to them is beyond me. Nobody cares about your humungous-big signature. IceCap
You know what's awesome about dinosaurs? Everything. You know what's awesome about Jurassic Park? Everything else. The "Raptors" name is fine. DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
That dinoleaf logo has potential, but it still seems off to me. The raptor's face looks a little chintzy. Overall, that was the best idea though. And seeing that purple was considered makes it all the more harder to swallow that it wasn't included in the new identity. razorback447
The maple leaf raptor is perfect. How they thought the plain roundrel version was better is beyond me.
Old School Fool
Speaking of Huskies, I found these rare pictures from the Raptors 1996-97 home opener against the Knicks. That's right, their second season and they already wore Throwbacks.Knicks look awful, by the way.
