Timaa
I hope whatever the Flyers redesign for next year is still in the works, and it’s a good one, because I don’t want Fanatics handling it.
flyersfan
I have been wanting to grab a new flyers jersey. Between the roster turmoil because of horrendous ownership/GM, potential team selling (please), rumored redesigns coming next year, and an absolute hate for fanatics, just a big L for me and anyone else in the fanbase
Lights Out
Ouch, this is a OITGDNHL moment if I've ever seen one. Kind of funny to look back on all the fear and paranoia of Nike "ruining the NHL" when Adidas dropped out. Nike would be a godsend compared to this. What's next when Fanatics doesn't work out? Is Bettman going to stitch the jerseys himself in his garage? 6 3 Quote POTD: 2/4/12 3/4/
VDizzle12
Anyone saying "at least it's not Nike" is completely delusional. Fanatics has been a trainwreck in everything they have produced. I don't expect this to be any different.
tp49
Fanatics has produced the "official Authentic Pro" off-ice gear for years now and it's just not good. The NHL is the easiest league not to buy new merch from. I've saved a decent amount of money since they switched the off-ice stuff to Fanatics and I look forward to saving more now that they'll have the jerseys too.

I was thinking about this earlier and I could not agree any more. It’s like they’re allergic to my money, and it’s been that way for close to 15 years now. Just dreadful garbage they put out. I can’t even remember the last time I bought any new NHL gear. I remember I bought a Flyers Stanley Cup shirt on deep discount from the NHL shop in Manhattan in 2010(!), and I ended up returning it because it was such poor quality. I’m pretty sure that was the last time. Maybe a Sharks 59Fifty from Hat Club right before they outlawed/banned/whatever you wanna call it selling those anywhere but the team shops in the arenas. This is a very dumb league. 9 Quote On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) The Yotes still won’t be able to fill the converted airplane hangar that they’ll play in by then. 4 1 Quote Insert Signature Here? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is a very dumb league. It is incredibly odd that New Era and Zephyr have arena-exclusive deals only because adidas and Fanatics (and ‘47 to a degree) wanted to control the e-retail space. Not sure why NHL thought that was a good business case. With adidas presumably done with NHL hats in ‘24 I wonder if the league allows for another hat maker to take its place (it should). 2 Quote Smart is believing half of what you hear. Can't wait to see how bad Fanatics :censored:s up the merch now that they have full control. This was horrible news to wake up to this morning. Chinese knockoffs will be better quality than the authentics. Hopefully it's not a monopoly and companies like '47 Brand can still make merchandise.
Hambone792
God I wish there was a way to get so much backlash that the league would retract this deal, but it’s the NHL so they will revert back to the Versus network instead

They didn't care about the sponsor patch backlash either Let's face it, people will complain for a few days and completely forget about it. BrySmalls
Perhaps the only positive aspect of this situation is that Fanatics may improve the design of the Capitals' jersey, which was inherited from Reebok.

nickp91
I'm sure Fanatics threw a ton of money at the NHL, but the league should've gone with a more reputable name in companies like CCM, New Balance (under the Warrior brand), or Nike

In total, Fanatics makes close to 100,000 MLB uniforms each season. Fanatics also makes authentic NFL jerseys that carry a Nike logo, which are sold online and in stores.
