Nothing else needed the bolt patterns with the current jersey and pant are atrocious...modern cuts be damned but they need to either go back to the traditional bolt patterns or completely reinvent the bolt treatment. When they announced them it was with the powder blue jerseys and done in some very-well balanced graphics from the social team that really made them pop. But, in games -- especially when worn with the white jerseys, which for some reason they were electing to wear at home, the yellow looked really awkward. Because the most dominant colour on the whites (other than white) is drab navy. The yellow/gold/saffron masks looked great anytime they were paired with the powder blues. I suspect the new uniforms were designed around powder blue, and will feature powder blue more prominently on the white jerseys. It's not the best fit because A. The fans prefer powder over everything else by a mile B. As you mentioned, the color rush is too close to the Rams.
