illwauk
Forgive me if this question has been addressed/buried somewhere in this thread...Any word on the Eagles swapping midnight green for kelly next season? Wouldn't this look so much better than what they have today? No it wouldn't. Among other reasons, the black is way out of place.Probably better for concepts since it ain't happening for '15Maybe it's because the Eagles looked like this when I started following the NFL, but the black doesn't look so out of place to me.Even then, the black could be easily replaced by a darker grey and still have the same effect. Lucas718
That kelly green Eagles helmet is insanely better than the current version.
FinsUp1214
Regarding the Jaguars helmet, I was a huge fan of the black/teal flake helmet. I thought that was such a great idea for them and was a step forwards at the time. Carrying that helmet (and logo) over to this set would've helped the uniform incredibly. Very quick side note, one of the reasons I feel that the previous logo worked so well (aside from it being not as Saturday-Cartoonish as the current) was that the shape of the Jaguar head fit SO well with the contour of a football helmet. The top of the head looked like it lined up near perfectly with the outer shape of the helmet. This new logo just doesn't have that same workability. TruColor
I have it on good authority that the Patriots will be making a small (but obvious) change to the wordmark on their jerseys next season. Not sure why it didn't happen before now, but there it is.
RollTribe19
No, not really.Sometimes it's the best possible look in a given matchup.Exception to the rule and only because it has long established history. I still prefer color jersey vs white jersey in the UCLA-USC rivalry. Sorry if that goes against some CCSLC universal truth. Here you go. 99% of the time it looks bush league. Because that picture is bush league. It's a joke league. A real league has uniform options to make it look good.

Dynasty
I'm not sure if this was mentioned yet, but the Jaguars are celebrating their 20th NFL season and have a logo for it (which is currently on their website). That was for last year. They wore it as a patch last season. I still haven't figured out how to embed instagram yet but here's the link. https://instagram.com/p/z7rWLEBpBF/It looks like I'm a year too late , but I didn't watch many Jaguars games last year.I have it on good authority that the Patriots will be making a small (but obvious) change to the wordmark on their jerseys next season. Not sure why it didn't happen before now, but there it is.I'm gonna assume this means swapping out the 'integrated Elvis' wordmark for the angular one they introduced a couple of years backThey should've done that when they actually released the wordmark. IceCap
Hey, I wasn't the one who threw that phrase out.I was responding to a hyperbolic assertion with what I thought would be recognized as equal hyperbole.I'm not sure if responding to an incorrect statement with something equally incorrect was the best way to get your point across.Anyway yeah, USC vs UCLA in colour vs colour looks great, but I'd label that the exception and not the rule. Football aesthetics have crystallized in such a way that colour vs white is the widely accepted norm. Not "silly and amateurish."When I think "amateurish" I think about what's being worn at the lowest levels of the sport. And that's colour vs colour in the case of most sports. Youth hockey, baseball, football, and basketball? Almost always colour vs colour. Soccer gets away with it at the higher levels because that's the aesthetic preference the sport evolved into, but that doesn't mean it can be exported into other sports. They don't have that same aesthetic tradition.Matte green looks terrible.Matte anything looks terrible. I've yet to see a matte helmet where I've gone "wow, good thing it's matte, it wouldn't look as good in standard gloss." A matte finish is a gimmick. Nothing more. mafiaman
I disagree with this. The old dolphins uniforms were a piece of art for me!I also liked the old aqua better. Actually way better.Respectfully disagree. Replace the teal in pic #2 with the teal from pic #1 and you have the perfect Dolphins uniform and helmet. Have the helmet be a matte kelly green, chrome facemask, keep the current wing design and by doing this you represent the past and still keep it modern. Keep the current uniforms, change the shade of green to kelly, swap out white pants for silver, add a black alternate and boom, you have a modern Eagles uniform. That's a darker green. I grew up with that too, but I think the black really makes it look kinda dark. It's still better than mixing green with true kelly green (like the color of the throwbacks they wore a few years ago). 2. The helmet didn't have any black on it (other than the few games they had the black tape on the wings). Any bright kelly green helmet should have solid silver wings, or silver and white if necessary. El Scorcho
Solid silver wings on the kelly green helmet would look like something out of the 70s. It's never going to happen in 2015.This isn't BFBS, black has been a part of their colour scheme for a long time now and if they end up with a Dallas Stars type of colour scheme, it will look really good.Black looks excellent against the kelly green. Shady, cold, and no sun tends to darken the uniform. But you being a Philly guy, you likely know the greens. Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.
